How to obtain unemployment records online through Washington ESD - need help accessing my claim history
I'm trying to figure out how to obtain unemployment records online from Washington ESD but I'm having trouble navigating their system. I need my complete claim history for the past two years for a mortgage application and I can't find where to download or print these records. I've logged into my SecureAccess Washington account but I can only see my current weekly claims, not the historical data. Has anyone successfully downloaded their unemployment payment history or benefit records online? Do I need to call Washington ESD or is there a way to get these records through their website?

You can access your unemployment records through the Washington ESD website but you need to look in the right section. Log into your SecureAccess Washington account, then go to the 'Unemployment Services' section. There should be a 'Payment History' or 'Benefit History' link that shows all your past claims and payments. You can usually print or download these as PDF files.

•Thanks! I found the Unemployment Services section but I'm only seeing options for current weekly claims. Is the Payment History under a different menu?

•Try looking under 'Account Information' or 'View Claim Details' - sometimes the historical records are nested under those sections. If you still can't find it, the records might be in the 'Correspondence' section as yearly summaries.

I had this same issue last month and it was driving me crazy! The Washington ESD website layout is confusing. You need to click on 'Unemployment Benefits' then 'View Payment Information' but sometimes that link doesn't work properly. I ended up having to call their customer service line to get my records sent to me.

•How long did it take to get through to someone on the phone? I've been trying to call but keep getting busy signals.

•It took me forever to get through - probably 50+ calls over two days. The system kept hanging up on me or putting me on hold for hours.

If you're having trouble getting through to Washington ESD by phone, you might want to try Claimyr. It's a service that helps people get connected to ESD agents without all the busy signals and hold times. I used it when I needed to get my payment history for a loan application. Check out claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows exactly how it works.

•Is this a legitimate service? I'm worried about giving my information to third parties when it comes to unemployment stuff.

Emma Wilson
•Yeah it's legit - they just help you get through the phone system faster. They don't handle your actual unemployment claim or anything like that. I was skeptical too but it actually worked and saved me hours of calling.

•I've heard good things about Claimyr from other people too. When you're dealing with mortgage deadlines, sometimes you need to try different approaches to get your records quickly.

The online system should have all your records but Washington ESD's website is notorious for being glitchy. Try logging out completely, clearing your browser cache, and logging back in. Sometimes that fixes the display issues with historical data.

•Good idea, I'll try that. I've been using the same browser session for weeks so maybe that's causing problems.

Isabella Santos
•Yeah definitely try a fresh browser session. Also make sure you're using Chrome or Firefox - some of the older browsers don't display all the menu options correctly on the ESD site.

OMG I'm dealing with the exact same thing right now! I need my unemployment records for a rental application and I can't figure out how to get them online. This is so frustrating - why can't government websites be user-friendly? Have you tried going to a WorkSource office in person?

Natasha Kuznetsova
•I hadn't thought of going in person - that might be worth trying if I can't get the online records to work. Do you know if they can print them out on the spot?

Ravi Gupta
•I'm not sure but I'm planning to try that next week if I can't get this sorted out online. At least in person they can't hang up on you lol

Just to clarify - when you say 'unemployment records' do you mean your 1099-G tax forms, your weekly payment history, or your complete claim file? The location on the website is different depending on what specific documents you need.

•I need the complete payment history showing all the weekly payments I received, dates, and amounts. The mortgage company wants to see the full record of benefits paid out.

AstroAdventurer
•Okay for that you definitely want the 'Payment History' section. It should show every payment with dates and amounts. If you can't access it online, requesting it by phone is your best bet.

The Washington ESD system is so outdated it's ridiculous. I've been trying to get my records for weeks and their website crashes half the time. Why can't they modernize their system like other states have done?

•Tell me about it! I swear they make this stuff intentionally difficult. My friend in California can download all her unemployment records instantly but here in Washington it's like pulling teeth.

GalacticGuru
•Exactly! It shouldn't be this hard to get records of your own benefits. The system desperately needs an overhaul.

I work in mortgage lending and we see this issue all the time with Washington ESD records. Sometimes clients can get a summary statement by calling the automated phone line - have you tried that? It's usually faster than waiting for a human agent.

Natasha Kuznetsova
•I didn't know there was an automated option! Do you know what number to call for that?
0 coins
Omar Fawaz
•I believe it's the main ESD number but when you call, listen for the automated options instead of trying to reach a person. It should let you request payment summaries by mail or sometimes give you basic info over the phone.

Another option is to check if your records are available through the 'eServices' portal. Sometimes there's a separate login for historical records vs current claims. It's confusing but worth checking all the different sections.

Natasha Kuznetsova
•I'll look for that eServices portal - I might have missed it. Thanks for the tip!

•No problem! The ESD website layout is really confusing so it's easy to miss different sections. Hope you find what you need.

If you're still having trouble, you might want to file a public records request. Under Washington state law, you have the right to access your own unemployment records. It's more formal but it guarantees you'll get everything.

Natasha Kuznetsova
•That sounds like overkill for just getting my payment history, but good to know that's an option if nothing else works.

Diego Vargas
•True, it's more formal than needed for basic records, but sometimes that's what it takes to get government agencies to respond quickly.

I successfully got my records last year by calling early in the morning - like right when they open at 8 AM. Less busy then and I got through on the second try. The agent was able to email me a PDF of my complete payment history within a few days.

Natasha Kuznetsova
•Good tip about calling early! I've been trying in the afternoons which is probably the worst time.

Anastasia Fedorov
•Yeah definitely try first thing in the morning. And if you use something like Claimyr to help get through, it's even easier since they handle the calling for you.

Make sure you have your Social Security number and claim number ready when you call. The agents always ask for that info first and it speeds up the process if you have it handy.

Natasha Kuznetsova
•Thanks, I'll make sure to have all my info ready. Do you remember if they ask for any other verification details?

StarStrider
•They usually want your SSN, claim number, and sometimes your address or phone number on file. Pretty standard verification stuff.

The 1099-G forms are available online for sure - I downloaded mine last month for tax purposes. But the detailed payment history is harder to find. You might need to call for that specific document.
0 coins
Natasha Kuznetsova
•I found the 1099-G but I need more detail than that shows. The mortgage company wants to see the weekly breakdown of payments.
0 coins
Sean Doyle
•Yeah the 1099-G is just the annual summary. For weekly details you'll probably need to call or try that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier.

I went through this exact same thing six months ago. The key is to be persistent - the records are there but the website doesn't make them easy to find. Keep trying different menu options and don't give up!

Natasha Kuznetsova
•Thanks for the encouragement! I'll keep trying different sections of the website before I resort to calling.

•Good luck! And if you do end up calling, be prepared to wait on hold for a while. Have something to do while you wait.

Pro tip: if you're having trouble with the website, try accessing it from a different device or network. Sometimes the ESD site works better on mobile vs desktop or vice versa.

Natasha Kuznetsova
•Interesting, I'll try that! I've only been using my laptop so maybe my phone will work better.

•Yeah it's weird but I've noticed some government sites work differently on different devices. Worth a shot!

The most reliable way I've found is to call during lunch hours on weekdays. Seems like there are more agents available then. Just my experience but it's worked for me multiple times.

Natasha Kuznetsova
•That's the opposite of what someone else suggested about calling early morning. I guess I'll try both times and see what works!

•Different strategies work for different people I guess. The main thing is to keep trying until you get through.

One more suggestion - check your email for any automated messages from ESD. Sometimes they send payment summaries or record updates via email and you might already have what you need without realizing it.

Natasha Kuznetsova
•Good point, I'll check my email history. I get so many emails I might have missed something important.

Mateo Hernandez
•Yeah definitely check your spam folder too. Government emails sometimes end up there.

Update us when you figure it out! I'm sure other people will have this same question and it would be helpful to know what method actually worked for you.

•Will do! I'm going to try the early morning calling strategy first, then the website tips everyone suggested. Thanks everyone for all the help!

•And remember, if the calling doesn't work out, that Claimyr service is always an option to help you get through to an agent faster. Good luck!

I had a similar issue recently and found that the records are actually in the "Benefits Information" section, not under current claims. After logging into SecureAccess Washington, look for "Benefits Information" then "Payment Details" - it should show your complete payment history with dates and amounts that you can export as a PDF. The interface is pretty clunky but the data is there. If that section isn't showing up for you, try switching browsers - I had to use Edge instead of Chrome to see all the menu options properly.
