How to find exact dates of previous ESD unemployment claims from 2023?
I received unemployment benefits sometime in 2023 but I need to prove the exact start and end dates for a loan application. I've been looking all over the ESD website but can't find any history section that goes back that far. My eServices account only shows recent activity. Is there a way to access older claim records? Do I need to call ESD directly or is there some archive section I'm missing? Really need this info by next week for my mortgage application.

You've got a few options to get your past claim dates: 1. Log into your eServices account and look for the "Previous Claims" or "Claim History" section. This sometimes goes back further than what appears on the main dashboard. 2. If that doesn't work, you can request your official records by submitting a public records request through this form: https://esd.wa.gov/public-records-request 3. You can also call ESD directly at 800-318-6022 and request a "Statement of Benefits" which includes all your claim history with exact dates. Option 3 is probably fastest for your mortgage deadline, but getting through to ESD can be a challenge sometimes.

•Thanks! I looked again in eServices but couldn't find anything going back to 2023. I'll try calling tomorrow but I'm worried about getting stuck on hold forever with this mortgage deadline coming up.

I ran into this EXACT problem last month! Needed my dates for a rental application and couldn't find anything on the website. Wasted 2 days trying to call ESD and either got disconnected or was on hold until they closed. SO FRUSTRATING!!! Finally got through on the third day but only because I started calling right when they opened at 8am.

•Have you tried Claimyr? It helped me get through to ESD last time I needed information about my old claim. It's a service that basically holds your place in line and calls you when an agent is available. Saved me hours of frustration. They have a demo of how it works at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 and their website is claimyr.com. Much better than calling for 3 days straight!

i got my old benifit info by emailling the records department instead of calling. took like 4 days to get a response but was easier then being stuck on hold. the address is something like publicrecords@esd.wa.gov i think. just ask for your "full claim history with dates" in the email

•The official email is actually public.records@esd.wa.gov (with a period, not underscore), but your method is correct. However, they can take up to 5 business days to respond, sometimes longer. If the OP needs this by next week, the email route might not be fast enough unless they specifically mention the urgent deadline.

You should be able to download a 1099-G tax form from your eServices account that shows the year you received benefits. Go to your eServices account > click on the menu in upper left > Choose "1099G Tax Information" > Select the relevant year. It won't show exact start/end dates, but proves you received benefits that year, which might help with your mortgage application while you wait for the exact dates.

•That's a good idea for proof I received benefits! I just checked and found my 1099-G. But the mortgage company specifically wants the exact dates my claim was active, not just the year. I'll still download this as backup though.

When I needed my old claim info for a background check, I ended up having to go to the WorkSource office in person. The staff there could access my full history immediately and printed everything out for me on the spot. Might be worth trying if you have one near you and can't wait for email responses or phone calls.

•I hadn't thought of going to WorkSource! There's one about 20 minutes from me. Did you need an appointment or could you just walk in? This might be my best option at this point.

•I just walked in. Had to wait about 30 min to see someone but WAY better than trying to call ESD. Bring your ID and know your SSN. They might ask security questions to verify your identity before accessing your records.

Quick update on the records request option - I just checked and the public records process typically takes 5-21 business days per ESD's website, so that's probably too slow for your mortgage deadline next week. Either try Claimyr to get through by phone faster, or the WorkSource in-person option someone mentioned might be your quickest solutions.

•Thanks everyone! I'm going to try the WorkSource office tomorrow morning, and if that doesn't work out, I'll try Claimyr to get through on the phone. Really appreciate all the help!
