How long from ESD phone interview to payment? Got a call after 7 week wait!
After 7 weeks of complete silence, I FINALLY got my adjudication interview call today! I was about to lose my mind when a friend suggested calling the governor's office. I was skeptical but desperate, so I called yesterday morning, and miraculously, ESD called me for my interview just 3 hours later!! The adjudicator mentioned that my former employer's statement matched mine, which she said was a good sign. When I asked how long until I'd get a decision, she was pretty vague and just said she "doesn't like to give dates" but that it "should be soon" since our stories lined up. Can anyone who's recently gone through this tell me what "soon" actually means? Are we talking days or weeks? I've already burned through my savings waiting these 7 weeks and really need to know when I might see that back payment. I'm literally calculating which bills I can delay at this point.

Congrats on finally getting your interview! When both sides agree on the facts, that's definitely positive. In my experience (had my interview last month), I got my determination letter 4 days after the interview and payment hit my account 2 days after that. So about a week total from interview to money in my account. But I've seen others here get results in as little as 48 hours when there's no dispute.

•Thank you! 4-6 days would be amazing. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, but after 7 weeks of nothing, even a rejection would be better than this limbo.

•It's the constituent services line. I think it's 360-902-4111. They took my info and claim number and promised to send it to ESD with a request to expedite. I was shocked when it actually worked!

I'm going to give you the exact same advice I give everyone - screenshot and document EVERYTHING. Print your determination letter when it comes. Sometimes ESD will approve you, pay you, and then later decide there was an issue and demand all the money back. As for timeline, with matching statements it's typically 3-5 business days for the determination letter, then 24-48 hours for payment processing if approved. So you're looking at about a week, give or take.

•That's terrifying about them asking for money back later! I'll definitely keep records of everything. And thanks for the timeline - seems to match what others are saying, so I'm feeling more confident now.

•Two months after a matching statement interview is definitely not typical. Was there something unusual about your case? Most straightforward cases with matching employer statements are resolved within a week.

Have you been trying to call ESD directly during those 7 weeks? I was stuck in adjudication for about 5 weeks and couldn't get through to anyone. I finally tried Claimyr (claimyr.com) which got me connected to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes after weeks of busy signals. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 Might be worth keeping that in your back pocket if you don't hear anything in the next few days. The agent I finally talked to was able to expedite my claim.

•is that service legit? seems sketchy that you have to pay to talk to ESD when its a govt agency??

I HAD THE EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE!! Waited forever, called governor's office as a last resort, got interview same day! My timeline: - Interview on Tuesday - Determination letter in my eServices account Friday morning - Money in my account Monday morning So basically 4 business days from interview to decision, then 1 more business day for payment. The adjudicator told me the same vague "soon" answer too. I think they just don't want to make promises they can't keep because some claims are more complicated than others.

•That's so reassuring to hear! I'm hoping I have the same timeline as you. Did they pay you for all the weeks you were waiting too?

•Yes! Got everything backdated to my original filing date. Make sure you've been filing your weekly claims this whole time though - they won't pay for any weeks you didn't submit a claim.

i've worked at esd (quit last year) and i can tell you that when both sides have matching stories and there's no complex issue, the adjudicator can usually make the decision that same day. but they don't want to tell you that in case something comes up or they get backed up with other cases. the system itself takes 2-3 days to process approvals and another 1-2 days for payment to go through. so realistically, about a week total.

•Wow, thanks for the insider perspective! That makes me feel a lot better. I was worried "soon" might mean another month.

My sister had her interview last month and it took exactly 5 days til she saw money in her account. But I had an interview back in January and even though my employer agreed with everything I said it still took almost 3 weeks!! I think it depends on how busy they are and maybe who your adjudicator is?

anyone else notice that ESD seems to process claims faster when you contact the governor? its like they only do their job when someone important is watching lololol

•It's not that they're only doing their job when watched. It's that constituent services requests from the Governor's office are flagged as priority cases. ESD is still severely understaffed post-pandemic and has a massive backlog. The system isn't built to handle the volume.

UPDATE: You guys were right! Just got my determination letter this morning - APPROVED!! The letter says payment will be processed within 48 hours. So that's 3 business days from interview to determination. Thank you all for helping me keep my sanity during this wait!
