How long for ESD unemployment payments to appear in WSECU account?

I just had my weekly claim approved and it shows as 'paid' on the ESD website as of yesterday morning. I bank with WSECU and still don't see the money in my account. This is my first payment after waiting through a 3-week adjudication process (finally!), and I'm getting anxious since rent is due tomorrow. Does anyone know the typical timeframe for deposits to appear in WSECU accounts specifically? The ESD site just says 2-3 business days but I've heard different banks process these deposits differently.

For WSECU specifically, my payments usually show up within 24-36 hours after ESD shows 'paid' status. Sometimes even faster. But the first payment can take a bit longer because they're setting up the initial deposit connection. I wouldn't worry yet if it's only been since yesterday morning. If you don't see it by tomorrow afternoon, then maybe give ESD a call to check on it.

Thanks for the info! That's a relief. I'll give it until tomorrow afternoon then. Just getting nervous with rent due so soon.

It took 4 days for my first payment to hit my WSECU acct!!! After that it was always 1-2 days max. hang in there

4 days? Ugh, that's cutting it close for me. Did you ever call to check on it or did you just wait?

Former ESD employee here. The first payment typically takes longer regardless of your bank because ESD runs it through additional verification. The system actually treats first payments differently in the queue. For WSECU specifically, they process ACH transfers in batches at 5am and 2pm on business days. So depending on when ESD released it, you might catch the next batch or wait for a following one. One thing to note - if yesterday was when it switched to 'paid' status, today would only be the first business day in most cases. The 2-3 business days doesn't start counting until the payment is actually processed, not just when the status changes.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! That makes a lot of sense about the batches. I didn't realize the status could change to 'paid' before the actual processing happens. Really appreciate the insider info.

I HATE how unpredictable ESD payments are!!!! Been on unemployment twice and it's never consistent. My last claim with WSECU sometimes came next day, sometimes took 3 days, for NO REASON. The anxiety of not knowing when money will arrive when you have bills due is THE WORST part of unemployment honestly. And trying to get answers from ESD is impossible because they never answer their phones!!!

Have you tried Claimyr? Its a service that helps you get through to ESD when they're busy. I was skeptical but it worked for me last month when I needed to fix a payment issue. You can watch how it works at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 - saved me hours of redial frustration. The site is claimyr.com if you want to check it out.

That's because after your account is established in their system, the deposits process much faster. The first one has additional verification steps. I have KeyBank and my first took 3 days but now they're always there by the next morning.

UPDATE: The money just hit my account! It took about 36 hours from when the status changed to 'paid'. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance. For anyone searching this in the future - for WSECU, expect about 1-2 days after the ESD website shows 'paid' for regular deposits, but the first one might take a bit longer.
