How can I track my unemployment debit card from Washington ESD?
I'm expecting my unemployment debit card to arrive but haven't received it yet. Filed my claim about 10 days ago and got approved, but no card in the mail. Is there a way to track when Washington ESD sends out the debit cards? I called the ReliaCard customer service but they said they can't track it until it's activated. Really need to access my benefits soon.

The debit cards usually take 7-10 business days after your first payment is issued. Check your Washington ESD online account to see if your payment status shows 'paid' - that's when they mail the card.

•My account shows 'paid' as of last Tuesday, so hopefully the card comes this week. Thanks for the timeline!

•Ugh that's what I'm worried about. Did you do anything to speed it up or just wait?

If you need to reach someone at Washington ESD about your debit card, I had success using Claimyr recently. It's a service that helps you get through to actual agents instead of waiting on hold forever. Check out their demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ and the site is claimyr.com. Really helped when I needed to verify my payment status.

•Interesting, haven't heard of that service before. Did they actually connect you to a real person?

•Yeah, it was way easier than trying to call on my own. The agent was able to confirm my card had been mailed and gave me the expected delivery date.

You can also try calling ReliaCard at 1-866-692-9374 to see if they have any shipping info once the card is in their system. Sometimes they can see more details than what Washington ESD shows online.

•I'll try that number again. When I called before they said they couldn't help until I activated it, but maybe I'll get a different rep.

•Some reps are more helpful than others. Keep trying different times of day.

THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING! I've been waiting 3 weeks for my card and Washington ESD keeps saying it was mailed but I never got it. Now I have to request a replacement which takes ANOTHER week!

•That's awful. Did you check with your mail carrier to see if it was delivered to the wrong address?

•Yeah I checked everywhere. Postal service said they have no record of it. Washington ESD system is so broken.

same thing happened to my neighbor. she used that claimyr thing someone mentioned and they helped her get a rush replacement card. might be worth trying if you're desperate

Pro tip: Make sure your address is exactly correct in your Washington ESD profile. Any small differences can cause delivery issues. Go to SecureAccess Washington and double-check everything including apartment numbers and zip codes.

•Good point, I'll verify my address is right. I did move recently so want to make sure it's updated.

•Yes! I had my old zip code in there and that delayed my card by a week.

Another option is to set up direct deposit for future payments so you don't have to worry about the debit card. You can add your bank info in the Washington ESD online system.

•Can you switch to direct deposit before getting the first debit card? Or do you have to wait?

•You can set it up anytime, but I think the first payment still has to go on the card. After that it should go to your bank account.

The tracking situation is really annoying. Other states have better systems for this kind of thing.

•Yeah Washington ESD needs to modernize their whole system. So many unnecessary delays.

Just got my card today after waiting 12 days. No tracking available but it did arrive in a plain white envelope from 'KeyBank' if that helps you know what to look for.

•Thanks for the heads up about the envelope! I'll keep an eye out for KeyBank mailings.

if you're really stuck, that claimyr service might help you get through to someone who can expedite it. my sister used them when her card never showed up

•Seems like a few people have had success with that. I might give it a try if my card doesn't come by Friday.

Don't panic if it takes a while. Mine took almost 2 weeks but it did eventually arrive. The waiting is the worst part.

Update: I tried that Claimyr thing and actually got through to a Washington ESD agent! They confirmed my replacement card was expedited and should arrive in 3-5 business days. Way better than the runaround I was getting before.

For what it's worth, once you get the card you can track your balance and transactions through the ReliaCard app. But yeah, the initial delivery tracking is non-existent.

•Good to know about the app. I'll download it once I get the card.

One more thing - if you do have to request a replacement card, make sure you report the original as lost/stolen to ReliaCard first. Otherwise there might be security holds on your account.

•Wish I had known that earlier. Had to deal with extra verification steps because I didn't report it properly.

Washington ESD really needs to partner with a shipping company that provides tracking. This is 2025, not 1995.

•Completely agree. Every other important mail comes with tracking these days.

Thanks everyone for all the advice! I'll check my address in the system and keep watching for that KeyBank envelope. If it doesn't show up by Friday I'll try the Claimyr service to get some actual answers from Washington ESD.
