Can you get temporary unemployment for maternity leave in Washington state?

I'm expecting my first baby in about 2 months and trying to figure out what benefits I can get during maternity leave. My employer doesn't offer paid maternity leave and I can't afford to take unpaid time off. Can I file for regular unemployment benefits through Washington ESD while I'm on maternity leave? I've been working full-time for 3 years at the same company. I'm so confused about what's available - some people tell me I can get unemployment, others say I can't because I'm not actively looking for work. What's the real deal with Washington state?
