After Governor intervention, will my ESD payments arrive on time now or restart waiting period?

Just had a breakthrough with my long-delayed unemployment benefits! After weeks of seeing 'pending' on my account and getting nowhere with regular ESD calls, I finally contacted the Governor's office last Thursday. Surprisingly, it worked - my held-up payments were released yesterday. Now I'm worried about what happens next. Does anyone know if my future weekly claims will now process normally? Or am I going to fall back into the same endless waiting pattern all over again? I just filed my weekly claim on Sunday and really need to know if I'll actually receive it this week or if I'm heading back into payment limbo. Bills don't stop just because ESD does! Has anyone else had success with the Governor's office intervention and can tell me what happened with your subsequent payments?

This is actually a common question after payment holds get resolved. The good news is that once your claim gets unstuck through intervention (governor's office, legislators, etc.), your future weekly claims typically process normally on the regular schedule - unless there's a new issue that triggers another hold. The governor's office essentially cleared whatever flag was holding your payments in adjudication. As long as you continue filing correctly and don't have any new eligibility issues pop up, you should receive payments within 2-3 business days after filing each weekly claim. Many people find their claims process smoothly after this kind of intervention.

That's SUCH a relief to hear. The stress of not knowing when payments will come has been awful. So you think my claim from Sunday might actually hit my account this week? I've been in the ESD system for months but still don't understand how anything works.

I HAD THE EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE back in Jan!!!! Waited 6 weeks with no payment, couldn't get thru to ANYONE at ESD!!! Called gov office on Monday, had $$$ by Friday! And YES all my payments after that came on time every week no problems. The gov office must have some special hotline to ESD that actually works LOL. The regular system is COMPLETELY BROKEN!!! Good luck!

Thanks for sharing your experience! That makes me feel so much better knowing your payments were normal afterward. Did you have to do anything special with your weekly claims, or just file them like usual?

The governors office can only do so much tho. They literally cant fix every claim issue. What helped me when I had adjudication problems was using Claimyr to actually get through to a real ESD agent. I was on hold for days until someone told me about it. You can see how it works at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 and their website is claimyr.com - its how I finally got my issues fixed for good.

my cousin did this last month n it worked but then 2 weeks l8r his claim got stuck again for a different reason... somethin bout job search verification??? idk exactly but he had 2 start the whole process over again smh

That's because job search verification is an entirely separate issue from payment holds. If you're selected for job search review, you need to upload proof of your three weekly work search activities. The ESD system randomly selects people for this verification, and it has nothing to do with previous payment issues.

When I had a similar situation after legislative intervention, my payments were regular until I had an earnings report that didn't match an employer's report - that triggered a new adjudication. Just be extremely careful about reporting any part-time work and earnings correctly. One small error can put you back in the waiting game. Other than that, your normal timeline should resume - payment within 48-72 hours after filing if you have direct deposit set up.

I'm being super careful with my claims! I haven't worked at all since being laid off so there's no earnings to report, which hopefully simplifies things. I'm just worried something random will trigger another delay since it seems like the ESD system is designed to find problems.

I don't understand why everybody keeps calling the governor's office. That's not what the office is for. There are proper channels to resolve unemployment issues but nobody wants to follow the process. My claim took 8 weeks to process but I waited patiently like we're supposed to.

Because the "proper channels" are COMPLETELY BROKEN!! When you have bills to pay and can't reach a single person at ESD after WEEKS of trying, what exactly are people supposed to do?? The governor's office exists to help citizens when state agencies fail them. Maybe your situation allowed you to "wait patiently" for 8 weeks, but many people face eviction or worse without their benefits!

To directly answer your question: Your payment for this week should come through normally, but here's what you need to understand about the system: 1. When the Governor's office intervenes, they typically clear the specific issue holding your claim, not just push payments through 2. Future payments will process normally (2-3 business days) UNLESS a new issue arises 3. Common triggers for new holds include: missing weekly filing deadlines, answering questions differently than previous weeks, being randomly selected for ID verification or job search review, or employer disputes 4. You can check if any issues are pending by looking at your account under "Alerts" or "Issues and Decisions" on the ESD dashboard If your account shows no pending issues now, your Sunday filing should pay out this week. I'd check your account Wednesday or Thursday.

Thank you! This is exactly the information I needed. I just checked my account and don't see any alerts or issues listed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the money arrives by Thursday. Do you know if there's any way to see if my current weekly claim is processing normally or if it's stuck again?

Yes, you can check your claim status by looking at the "Payment History" section. If your most recent claim shows as "Processing" that's a good sign. If it shows "Pending" with no explanation, that could indicate another hold. Also, check the "Decisions" tab - any new issues requiring adjudication would appear there. If everything looks normal, you're likely in good shape.
