Make sure you're answering the work search questions correctly on your weekly claims. If you accidentally mark that you refused work or weren't available, it can flag your whole claim for review.
Hang in there. I know it's stressful when you need the money now. The payments will come eventually with full backpay, you just have to get through this waiting period first.
Make sure to check both your bank account AND the Washington ESD payment history page. Sometimes there can be delays between when they send it and when your bank processes it.
Just to add one more perspective - I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier and it was actually really helpful. Got connected to a Washington ESD agent in like 20 minutes instead of spending hours trying to call. Worth checking out if you need to talk to someone about your claim.
Thanks again for the Claimyr tip everyone. Finally got my claim issues sorted out after weeks of trying to reach someone.
Update: My sister applied and got approved! Turns out she had plenty of earnings to qualify. Thanks everyone for the advice and encouragement to apply.
One more thing about work search - keep detailed records of every job you apply to. Washington ESD can audit your work search activities and if you can't prove you did the required searches, you could lose benefits or have to pay them back.
Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! I feel much more confident about applying now. Sounds like I should definitely qualify based on my work history and the circumstances of my layoff.
Good luck with your application! The process can be intimidating at first but once you get into the routine of weekly claims it becomes pretty straightforward.
And remember, if you run into any issues getting through to Washington ESD for questions, Claimyr is there as an option. Better to get your questions answered than to stress about it.

Quick tip - make sure your address is updated with Washington ESD or your benefit payments might get delayed. Learned that the hard way when I moved apartments.

•Yeah it held up my payments for two weeks while they verified my new address. Such a pain.

The whole benefit calculation seems designed to be confusing on purpose. Like they don't want people to know how much they're entitled to. At least this thread helped me understand it better!

•Happy to help! The system is complicated but once you understand the basics it makes more sense.
