If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just to clarify something I saw mentioned earlier - you don't need to wait to file your claim, but you do need to have actually been separated from your job. So if you got notice but are still working, wait until your last day.

Good point. In my case I was laid off yesterday so I'm clear to file today.

Perfect, then you're all set. File today and start that waiting week clock ticking!

If anyone's still having trouble getting through to Washington ESD by phone when they need help, I had success with that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. It's worth trying if you're stuck and need to talk to someone.

How much does something like that cost? Is it worth it?

Zara Shah

For me it was worth it because I was spending hours trying to get through on my own. Saved me a lot of time and frustration when I needed answers about my claim.

For what it's worth, Washington ESD benefits are among the better ones in the country. The maximum weekly amount is pretty decent compared to other states, and the duration is standard at 26 weeks.

0 coins

That's reassuring! I was worried I wouldn't get enough to cover my basic expenses.

0 coins

One last tip - make sure you understand the difference between your weekly benefit amount and your maximum benefit amount. The weekly is what you get each week, the maximum is the total you can collect over the entire benefit year (weekly amount × 26 weeks).

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! This gives me a much better idea of what to expect from Washington ESD.

Good luck with your claim! Hope you get back to work soon but at least you'll have some income while you search.

One more tip - keep detailed records of your work hours and earnings. I use a simple spreadsheet with dates, hours worked, and gross pay. Makes filing the weekly claims much easier and gives you backup if there are ever questions.

0 coins

Smart! I wish I had done that from the beginning. Had to reconstruct my work history when Washington ESD asked for clarification.

0 coins

Same here - keep everything organized from the start and you'll save yourself headaches later.

0 coins

Bottom line - yes you can work and collect unemployment in Washington, just be honest about it. The partial benefit system is actually designed to help people in exactly your situation. Good luck with the job search!

Thank you everyone! This thread has been incredibly helpful. I feel much more confident about filing my claim now.

Glad we could help! Just remember to report everything and keep looking for full-time work. You'll get through this.

One thing to keep in mind - your former employer might contest your claim. Be prepared to provide detailed information about why you quit and what efforts you made to resolve the situation.

0 coins

I'm actually expecting them to contest it. They definitely won't want to pay higher unemployment taxes.

0 coins

That's exactly why having solid documentation is so important. Make your case as strong as possible from the start.

0 coins

Good luck with your claim! Sounds like you have a legitimate case for good cause. The process is stressful but hang in there.

Thank you! This thread has been incredibly helpful. I feel much more confident about moving forward.

You're welcome! Feel free to update us on how it goes.

this has been super helpful - i was getting confused by all the different information online about federal vs state unemployment rules. now i know to focus on washington esd specific info when im researching my claim

0 coins

Same here! Glad I asked this question because I was getting overwhelmed by all the conflicting information.

0 coins

The Washington ESD website really is the best source for state-specific information. I bookmark their FAQ section.

One last thing - if you ever need to escalate an issue beyond Washington ESD, you can contact your state legislators office. They sometimes have staff who specialize in helping constituents with state agency issues. But for 99% of unemployment questions, Washington ESD is your primary resource.

0 coins

Good to know there are escalation options if needed, though hopefully I won't need them!

0 coins

Most people don't need to escalate, but it's good to know the option exists for really complex cases.
