Don't forget you can also potentially qualify for other assistance programs while on unemployment - like food stamps or emergency rental assistance. Every bit helps when you're dealing with reduced income.
Bottom line - file for unemployment as soon as possible after you lose your job. Even if the amount isn't huge, it's money you've earned through your previous work and it can make a big difference while you're job hunting. The sooner you file, the sooner you can start receiving benefits.
The most important thing is to be completely honest and provide all requested documentation promptly. Washington ESD deals with these situations regularly, so as long as you meet their requirements, you should be fine receiving both benefits.
Filing immediately is definitely the right move. I waited a few days when I got laid off thinking I needed to organize everything first, and I regretted it. The sooner you get in the system the better.
Hope everything works out for you. Being unemployed is stressful enough without having to worry about whether you'll qualify for benefits. File today and take it one step at a time.

One final thought - when you do talk to Washington ESD (whether through regular calling or using a service like claimyr), ask specifically about the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act programs. They sometimes have funding for training that includes income support.

•I'll make sure to ask about that. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to share their experiences and advice.

hang in there - i know it's scary when benefits are ending but you'll figure something out. most people do even though it might not be ideal at first

•Thank you for the encouragement. It helps to know I'm not the only one dealing with this.
