If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just to add one final note - even though unemployment is relatively low, it's still around 4%, which means there are still plenty of people in similar situations. You're not alone in this, and the system is there to help bridge the gap while you find your next opportunity.

That's really comforting to hear. Thanks for putting it in perspective!

And remember, filing for UI doesn't mean you've given up on finding work quickly. It's just smart financial planning.

One last resource - if you do run into any issues reaching Washington ESD by phone (which can still happen even with lower call volumes), there are services like Claimyr that can help you get through to an agent faster. I've heard good things about their callback system. But hopefully you won't need that and your claim will process smoothly!

I'll keep that in mind just in case. Hopefully everything goes smoothly but it's good to know there are options if I get stuck.

I wish I had known about services like that when I was trying to reach them last year. Would have saved me hours of frustration!

The percentage thing is misleading because it's not based on your last paycheck. My friend thought she'd get half her salary and was shocked when her benefits were way less because she'd only been working at higher wages for a few months.

Yeah, this is why the base period calculation catches people off guard. It's looking back further than most people expect.

Bottom line - most people get between 40-50% of their average weekly wage, but it really depends on your specific situation. The online calculator is your best bet for an accurate estimate.

Thanks everyone! This has been super helpful. I think I have a better understanding now of how the calculation works.

One more thing - if you quit your job instead of being laid off, the qualification rules are different and much stricter. You need to have 'good cause' for quitting.

0 coins

Luckily I was laid off, not quit. But good to know for others reading this.

0 coins

Yeah, quitting makes it much harder to qualify. Layoffs are usually straightforward as long as you meet the other requirements.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! I feel much more confident about applying now. This thread has been really useful.

Glad we could help! Good luck with your application.

Hope it goes smoothly for you. The process isn't as scary as it seems at first.

The learning curve is steep but you'll get the hang of it. Most important things: file immediately, file weekly claims every week, do your job search, report all income. Follow those rules and you should be fine.

0 coins

Simple enough rules to follow. Thanks for breaking it down!

Welcome to the unemployment club nobody wants to join! But seriously, the benefits really do help and Washington's unemployment system, while frustrating at times, does work eventually. Hang in there.

0 coins

Haha yeah definitely not a club I planned to join but glad the support system exists.

Don't wait until the last minute to figure this out. Start applying for other assistance programs now while you still have some income coming in. The applications can take time to process.

0 coins

You're absolutely right, I need to be proactive about this instead of just worrying. I'll start looking into all the programs people have mentioned here.

0 coins

Keep in mind that if you do qualify for a new benefit year, there might be a waiting period or delays in processing. Don't assume it will be seamless even if you do have enough work history.

Good point, I should prepare for gaps in coverage even in the best case scenario. This whole situation is so much more complicated than I expected.

That's why having multiple backup plans is important. Don't put all your hopes on one solution.
