Pro tip: if you do get through to someone at Washington ESD, make sure to get their direct extension or callback number. Some agents will give you their direct line for follow-up questions.
Just wanted to update - I tried the Claimyr service after reading about it here and it actually worked! Got connected to a Washington ESD agent who helped me understand why my claim was flagged for adjudication. Turns out there was a simple documentation issue I could resolve.
Just remember that even if you qualify for $700+ per week, you still need to be actively looking for work. Don't treat unemployment as a vacation because they do check up on your job search activities.
Good luck with your claim! The whole process can be stressful but once you get through the initial setup, the weekly claims are pretty routine. Just make sure to file every week even if you haven't heard about your benefit amount yet.
The good news is that Washington ESD has pretty decent online resources for employers. Their website has calculators and guides that can help you figure out your rates and requirements.
Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! I feel much more confident about getting my unemployment taxes set up correctly now.
Good luck with your application! Based on what you've shared, it sounds like you should qualify without any issues. The 8 months of full-time work at a decent salary should easily meet Washington's requirements.
Just to wrap up for anyone else reading this thread - the key requirements in Washington are: wages in at least 2 quarters of your base period, at least 680 hours of work OR wages equal to 1.25 times your highest quarter earnings, and you must be unemployed through no fault of your own. Most people who worked full-time for 6+ months will qualify.

Don't forget to sign up for direct deposit right away. Paper checks take forever and can get lost in the mail. Electronic payments are much faster and more reliable.

•Has to be checking or savings at a US bank. They can't deposit to prepaid cards or credit union share draft accounts in some cases.

Good luck with everything! The unemployment system in Washington isn't perfect but it does work once you get through the initial setup. Keep all your paperwork organized and stay on top of your weekly filings.
