Still waiting on 2024 Social Security SSA-1099 tax form - is anyone else having delays?

The SSA typically distributes the SSA-1099 forms by January 31st each year. If you haven't received yours yet, either online or by mail, there may be a delay in processing this year. I received mine online about a week ago, so they are definitely starting to become available. I'd give it another week before getting too concerned.

I got mine in the mail yesterday but still don't see it online. My neighbor hasn't received hers at all. Maybe they're sending them out in groups based on your last name or something?

THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! Every single year there's some new problem with Social Security. Last year they miscalculated my COLA increase and now they can't even get the tax forms out on time! Some of us NEED to file early to get our refunds. What are they doing with all our tax dollars if they can't even handle basic administrative tasks?!?

When my 1099 didn't show up online, I just went to my local Social Security office in person. Had to wait about an hour, but they printed it right there for me. Sometimes the old-fashioned way works better than dealing with their website or phone lines.

Anybody know if this delay will push back our COLA adjustment for 2025? My sister-in-law told me everything gets delayed when they're behind on paperwork.

UPDATE: My 1099 finally appeared online this morning! Looks like they are indeed rolling them out gradually. For those still waiting, keep checking your online account daily.
