Social Security annual statement missing for 2025 - anyone else waiting?

Is anyone else still waiting for their 2025 Social Security statement? Mine is nowhere to be found and I'm getting worried. I usually receive it by early February but we're well into March now and nothing has shown up. I've checked my online account at mysocialsecurity.gov but there's no updated statement there either. Just says 'Your statement is being processed' when I try to view it. I'm 59 and planning my retirement in the next few years, so I really need to see those updated earnings numbers and benefit estimates. Starting to wonder if it's lost in the mail or if there's some kind of system-wide delay this year. Has anyone successfully received theirs yet?

I got mine about 2 weeks ago. But a lot of people in my senior community haven't yet. The lady at our community center said SSA is behind this year with the statements. Something about updating their systems for the 6.9% COLA that went into effect.

Thanks for letting me know! Good to hear I'm not the only one. Did your statement look any different from previous years with these supposed system updates?

The SSA doesn't automatically mail paper statements anymore unless you specifically request them. They stopped that practice years ago to save money. You need to create an online account at mysocialsecurity.gov and view your statement there. If you're 60+, they'll mail one automatically 3 months before your birthday, but otherwise, it's all digital now.

I do have an online account (mentioned that in my post), but my statement there shows as 'being processed' when I try to view it. It's been stuck like that for weeks. That's why I'm concerned.

Sorry, I missed that detail. If your online statement is stuck in processing status for more than 14 days, you should contact SSA directly. This can indicate an earnings discrepancy they're investigating or a technical issue with your account. Either way, only a representative can tell you what's happening with your specific record.

mine says the same thing!! been like that for almost a month now. tried logging out and back in and everything. starting to think they dont want us to see how little they're giving us this year lol

EXACTLY what I was thinking! They're hiding the numbers because they don't want us to see how they're STEALING from seniors again with those phony benefit calculations. My brother worked 45 YEARS and gets less than someone who barely paid in!!

I managed to resolve a similar issue last month after my statement was stuck

I've never heard of that service before, but at this point I'm desperate enough to try anything. The regular SSA line has been a nightmare - I was on hold for 2 hours yesterday before getting disconnected. Did they need any special information to fix your account issue?

Just my SSN and verified my identity with DOB and address. The rep found the issue pretty quickly - apparently my last employer had submitted an amended W-2 which created a mismatch that needed manual review. Once that was cleared, everything was fixed. The agent said they're seeing lots of delays this year because they updated their earnings record system.

Social Security Administration tech specialist here. There is indeed a known issue affecting some annual statements this year. The agency implemented a new earnings record system that's causing processing delays for approximately 8-12% of beneficiaries. If your statement shows as \

April 15th?? That's ridiculous! Some of us need this information NOW for important financial decisions. Why wasn't there any public announcement about these delays? And why implement a new system during statement season? Poor planning if you ask me...

I understand your frustration. The system update was actually scheduled for November 2024, but was delayed due to technical issues and didn't roll out until January. The delay announcements were posted on the SSA website, but admittedly weren't communicated well to the public. The good news is that most accounts can be manually updated by a representative if you call in with an urgent need for your statement.

Thank you for this detailed explanation! I'll call them tomorrow. Is there a specific department I should ask for when I call, or will any representative be able to help with this statement issue?

I haven't gotten ANYTHING from Social Security in TWO YEARS except a letter saying they were cutting my Medicare premium from my check!!! I tried calling 8 TIMES last month and either got disconnected or was on hold for so long I had to hang up for another appointment. Tried going to the local office and the line was OUT THE DOOR at 7:30am!!! The system is BROKEN!!!

Have you tried calling right when they open at 8am? That's worked for me in the past. Also, Wednesdays and Thursdays seem to have shorter wait times from my experience.

I received mine last week, but there was an error on my earnings record! They somehow missed including my 2023 income entirely, which would significantly impact my future benefit calculations. I'm guessing they're having system issues this year. Definitely check your statement thoroughly when you do get it - don't just assume the numbers are correct.

That's concerning! Were you able to get the error fixed? I always check mine carefully, especially since I had a similar issue about 5 years ago where one of my higher-earning years was recorded incorrectly.

I'm still working on getting it fixed. I gathered my W-2s and tax returns from 2023 as proof. Called SSA but couldn't get through, so I scheduled an in-person appointment at my local office for next week. From what the scheduling system told me, I need to file something called a \

Just checked mine after seeing your message - still showing as processing unfortunately. But that gives me hope they're working through the backlog! I'll keep checking daily.

UPDATE: I spoke with an SSA technical supervisor today about this issue. They confirmed they're experiencing significant delays with the 2025 statements due to the integration of the new COLA calculations and earnings record system. For those with \

Thanks for the update! This is really helpful information. I'll try calling during those recommended time slots. My SSN ends in 64 - I wonder if that means I'll be in an earlier or later batch?

0 coins

According to what I was told, they're processing in 10-digit groups, starting with 00-09, then 10-19, etc. So ends in 64 would be in the 7th batch (60-69). They're currently working on the 40-49 group, moving through about one group every 3-4 days. So your batch should be processed in about two weeks if you don't call in.

That's really helpful to know about the batch processing system! I had no idea they organized it by SSN groups like that. Two weeks isn't too bad to wait if that's accurate. I appreciate you taking the time to get detailed information from SSA - this whole thread has been way more informative than anything I could find on their official website.

This is exactly the kind of detailed information we need more of! @Mateo Hernandez thank you for going the extra mile to get answers from SSA directly. The batch processing explanation makes so much sense - no wonder some people are getting theirs while others are still waiting. I'm going to share this thread with my retirement planning group since several people there have been having the same issue. It's frustrating that SSA doesn't communicate these delays clearly on their website, but at least we have some real timelines now instead of just "your statement is being processed.

This is so helpful! I've been struggling with the same issue for weeks and getting nowhere with the SSA phone lines. The batch processing explanation finally makes sense of why my neighbor got hers but I'm still waiting. I'm definitely going to try calling during those 8-10am windows that @Mateo Hernandez mentioned. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here - this community is way more informative than the official SSA resources!

I'm in the same boat as many of you here! My statement has been stuck on "being processed" for about 3 weeks now. After reading through all these helpful comments, especially @Mateo Hernandez's detailed updates about the batch processing system, I feel much better knowing this is a widespread issue and not something wrong with my specific account. My SSN ends in 72, so if the batch system is accurate, I should be in the 70-79 group and hopefully see my statement in the next few weeks. It's frustrating that SSA didn't communicate these delays better, but this thread has been incredibly informative. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences and solutions - this community is providing better customer service than SSA itself right now!
