TWC disaster claim error - How to submit screenshot and get help?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my new disaster claim. I tried to apply online but got an error message. Has anyone else run into this? I took a screenshot of the error but I'm not sure where to send it or what to do next. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Guys, I think we're missing the bigger picture here. Why is our system so broken that we have to resort to all these workarounds just to get help after a disaster? We need to demand better from our government. This is unacceptable.

β’100% agree. But how do we even start to fix this mess?

β’Write to your representatives! It might not do much, but if enough of us complain, maybe they'll finally do something.

β’Tbh, I've given up hope. It's been like this for years and nothing ever changes. We're on our own.

β’For real. We're already dealing with enough stress from the disaster itself. This should be the easy part.

Ugh, I feel your pain. The online system is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare but sometimes it's the only way to get things sorted out.

β’Yeah, I've been trying to call all morning but can't get through. It's so frustrating π«

β’Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and be ready to dial the second they open. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better.

β’Also, if you have a Bluetooth headset, keep your hands free so you can multitask while waiting. Every bit of efficiency counts.

Have you tried using a different browser? Sometimes Internet Explorer (I know, I know) works better with these old government systems. Worth a shot!

β’Lol who still uses Internet Explorer? π€£ But for real, good advice. These systems are stuck in the stone age.

I'm in the same boat, been trying to file a claim for weeks now. This whole process is making me feel like I'm going crazy. Anyone else?

PSA: If you're having trouble with the online system, try accessing it during off-peak hours. Like, middle of the night if you can. The site tends to work better when there's less traffic.

β’This is especially true for government sites that might not have robust server capacity. Good tip!

Have you tried reaching out on Twitter? Sometimes their social media team is more responsive than the phone lines. Worth a shot!

Hey OP, what kind of disaster are you dealing with? I might have some specific advice depending on the situation.

β’It's related to the recent flooding in our area. Lost a bunch of stuff and can't work right now because of it.

β’Oof, that's rough. Make sure you're documenting all your losses with photos and receipts if possible. It'll help with your claim and any insurance stuff too. Hang in there!

I had the same issue last week! Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then try again. It worked for me after that. Good luck!

β’Clearing cache can solve a lot of issues with online forms, especially if the site was updated recently.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

β’Wait, what? You have to pay to talk to someone? That's messed up. Is this even legit?

β’I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it's legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

β’How long did it take to get through using this service? I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point.

β’Just to add, while Claimyr can be a solution, it's worth considering that services like this might push for-profit solutions to what should be a public service.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Take a deep breath. We've all been there, and it sucks. 2. Try applying again using a different device if possible (computer instead of phone, or vice versa). 3. If that doesn't work, you'll need to call. I know it's a pain, but it's often the only way. 4. When you call, have your screenshot ready. They might ask you to email it to a specific address. 5. Be prepared to wait. Bring a book, or put it on speaker and do something else while you wait. 6. If all else fails, see if there's a local office you can visit in person. Sometimes face-to-face is the way to go. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! You've got this. πͺ

β’This is great advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every error message, every person you talk to. It might come in handy later.

Claimyr seems like a good fallback option, but it's unfortunate that it has to be that way. Ideally, public services should not require a paid third-party tool to be effective. It's a real commentary on the state of current systems that something like this needs to exist. On the other hand, for those in desperate need, Claimyr offers a valuable service, getting you through to a human representative without the long wait times. It's both a testament to the innovation of private solutions and a critique of the inefficiencies of our public systems.
