TWC debit card timing - will they mail it before or after approval?
So I just finished filing my unemployment claim and chose the debit card option for receiving payments. Im confused about when TWC will actually send me the card. Do they mail it out immediately after I submit my application or do I have to wait until my claim is approved? Anyone know the timeline? Don't wanna miss it in the mail if they're sending it soon.

You'll typically get the TWC debit card 7-10 business days after you file your initial claim, regardless of whether your claim has been approved yet. They send it out automatically once you select that payment method. Just make sure your mailing address is correct on your claim!

Thanks! So they don't wait for the approval? That's good to know cuz my claim is still pending review.

They sent mine BEFORE my claim was approved. Got the card about a week after filing, but then had to wait almost 3 more weeks for my claim to be processed and money to show up on it. The envelope is plain white and doesn't say TWC on it - almost threw mine away thinking it was junk mail!

I NEVER GOT MINE and had to request a replacement!!! Check your account after 2 weeks and if it says the card was mailed but you don't have it, call the US Bank ReliaCard number (not TWC) to report it missing. Took another 7-10 days to get the replacement. So frustrating!!!!

Same thing happened to me! I waited a month before realizing something was wrong. I've been trying to call TWC about it for days but can't get through to anyone. How did you end up resolving it?

I was in your exact situation last year. The card comes separately from approval. Here's what to know:\n\n1. The debit card ships automatically within 7 days of filing\n2. It comes in a plain white envelope from U.S. Bank (not TWC)\n3. No funds will be on it until after your claim is approved\n4. You'll need to activate it as soon as you get it\n5. If it doesn't arrive within 10 business days, call U.S. Bank ReliaCard at 800-657-6343\n\nMake sure your mailing address is exactly correct in the TWC system!

This is super helpful, thank you! I'll keep an eye out for a plain envelope from US Bank then. Really appreciate the detailed info.

Do you know which days they send them? I applied on a Friday if that matters.

Has anyone tried Claimyr to reach TWC about card issues? I was getting so frustrated trying to call about my missing debit card and kept getting busy signals. Found claimyr.com and their system got me through to an actual TWC agent in about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh. Agent told me my card had been returned to them because my apartment number was missing!

Never heard of this before but might try it if I have issues. Don't have the patience to sit on hold for hours just to talk to someone.

Is that service legit? Sounds kinda sketchy to me but I'm desperate to talk to someone about my claim status.

Just so you know - you can also switch your payment method to direct deposit even after you've already selected the debit card option. Just log into your TWC account and update your payment preferences. Direct deposit is faster once payments start getting approved.

YES DO THIS!! The debit card has all kinds of fees if you use it at certain ATMs. Direct deposit is WAY better!!!!!

Quick question - my claim has been pending for almost 3 weeks, but I just got the debit card yesterday. Does that mean my claim is about to be approved? Or do these two things have nothing to do with each other?

They're completely separate processes. Getting the card doesn't indicate anything about your claim status - they just automatically mail it when you select that payment option. You'll still need to wait for your claim determination separately.
