How often does TWC deposit unemployment benefits to bank card after approval?
So I finally got approved for unemployment after waiting forever!!! TWC sent me the bank card in the mail and already loaded money on it which was a huge relief. I checked my account and see the payment, but I'm confused about the schedule. How often will TWC deposit money on the card? Is it every week or every two weeks? Do I need to keep requesting payment on specific days to keep it coming? This is my first time on unemployment and I'm trying to budget properly. Thanks for any help!!

Congrats on getting approved! TWC pays unemployment benefits every two weeks after you submit your payment requests. You'll need to request payment on your assigned day every other week - it should tell you your scheduled day in your TWC account (usually Sun, Mon, Tues or Wed). Missing your request day can delay payments, so set calendar reminders. The money usually hits the card 2-4 business days after your payment request is processed.

•Thank you! Just checked and my request day is Tuesday. So I request every other Tuesday and then the money comes a few days later? Do they email when they deposit the money or do I just need to keep checking the card?

its biweekly but watch out cuz sometimes they mess up and skip payments. happened to me twice already

•They don't just "mess up" and skip payments. If you don't get paid it's usually because of an issue with your claim or payment request. Did you enter all your work search activities? If you report ANY earnings during a payment period they'll put a hold until they verify it. Always keep detailed records of EVERYTHING with TWC because their system is designed to find reasons to deny benefits!!!

•nope no fee! u just go on the us bank reliacard website after u activate the card and link ur bank account. takes like 2-3 days to transfer but its free

Im in week 4 of unemployment and I wasn't aware that I had to request payments. I thought they just automatically sent them once approved. No wonder I haven't received anything after my first payment! Am I going to lose those weeks of benefits?

•You need to call TWC immediately! If you miss your payment request days, you could potentially lose those benefit weeks. Unfortunately, getting through to TWC by phone is nearly impossible these days - I spent 2 weeks trying to reach them when I had a similar issue. I finally used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to a TWC agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending hours redialing. Don't wait - the longer you go without requesting, the harder it is to fix!

Be VERY careful with these payment requests! I've been on Texas unemployment for 3 months now, and if you mess up ANYTHING on your payment request, you could wait WEEKS for them to fix it. Make sure you: 1) Answer all questions honestly (they cross-check with employers) 2) Report ANY income earned during that period, even tiny amounts 3) Have all your work search activities documented BEFORE you submit 4) Request payment on YOUR assigned day (not just any day) Also, they sometimes randomly select people for "interviews" about your work search - if that happens, your payments freeze until after the interview. KEEP DETAILED RECORDS OF EVERYTHING!!!

•You CAN work part-time and still get benefits, but you MUST report ALL earnings on your payment request for the week you WORKED (not when you got paid). They'll reduce your benefit amount using their formula, but you won't lose everything unless you earn more than your benefit amount. Just be 100% accurate with dates and amounts - they WILL check and even a small mistake can trigger an investigation that freezes your payments!

•Try requesting early in the morning (before 8am) or late at night (after 10pm). The site gets overwhelmed during peak hours. Also, use Chrome or Edge browsers - the site has issues with Safari and Firefox sometimes.
