TWC debit card deposit timeline confusion - why are some faster than others?
I'm so confused about these TWC debit card deposit times! I keep seeing people on Facebook saying they get their unemployment money THE SAME DAY they request payment or at the latest the next morning. Meanwhile, I'm always waiting a full 2 days after requesting payment before anything hits my TWC debit card. This last payment request I submitted Monday morning and didn't see a penny until Wednesday afternoon. Are people just exaggerating about getting same-day deposits or is something wrong with my card/account? Does anyone else have to wait the full 2 days like me? 😭😭

The standard processing time for payment requests to be deposited on TWC debit cards is typically 2-3 business days. Anyone claiming same-day deposits is likely either mistaken about when they actually requested payment or they're confusing their timeline. TWC's system processes payment requests in batches, and there's always bank processing time involved too. There are rare exceptions where someone might see faster deposits if: 1. They requested very early in the morning on a Monday 2. Their payment request had zero issues to review 3. Their bank processes incoming ACH transfers exceptionally quickly But even then, true same-day deposits would be extremely unusual. Your 2-day timeline is completely normal and what most people experience.

•Thank you for explaining! That makes so much sense. I guess I was stressing over nothing.

TWC IS A JOKE! I had to wait 4 DAYS once because they said my work search was "under review" even though I entered EVERYTHING correctly!! The whole system is designed to make us wait as long as possible for our money. And don't even get me started on their so-called "customer service" that never answers the phone!!!! 🤬

I've been on unemployment twice in Texas, and in my experience, the timeline depends on several factors: 1. When you submit your payment request (earlier in the day is better) 2. Which day of the week (Monday submissions typically process faster than Friday) 3. Whether there are any flags on your account 4. If you're requesting payment on your designated filing day or later I've found that requesting payment early on Monday morning of my filing day typically results in deposits by Wednesday morning. However, if I wait until later in the week, it can take 3-4 days. Are you requesting payment on your assigned filing day? That might affect processing time.

•Yes, I always file on my assigned Monday. Sounds like my timeline is actually normal then. Thanks for breaking it down!

hey just wanted to share what happened to me last month - i was struggling to reach TWC for 3 weeks trying to fix a payment delay issue and kept getting busy signals. someone told me about this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helps you get through to TWC agents without the constant busy signals. they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh i was skeptical but desperate so i tried it. got through to a TWC agent in about 20 minutes! they explained that my payment was delayed because of a work search verification (even tho nobody told me). the agent fixed it and my payment was released that day. might be worth checking if you have ongoing issues with your payments.

•Is that service actually legit?? I've been trying to get through to TWC for DAYS about my appeal and all I get is busy signals.

•yeah it worked for me! its basically just a callback service that keeps trying the twc lines for you instead of you having to redial 100 times. saved me a ton of frustration

I think it also depends on your bank! My friend and I both have TWC cards but different banks for direct deposit. She alwaaaays gets hers faster than me even when we request on the same day. Its so annoying!!

There's another factor that might explain what you're seeing on social media. During certain high-volume periods, TWC sometimes processes payment requests in different batches. For example, during the pandemic, they would sometimes process alphabetically by last name. That meant people with last names starting with A-M might get paid a day earlier than N-Z. This doesn't happen regularly anymore, but occasionally TWC still processes in batches during high-volume periods. So someone might truthfully report getting paid quickly while others wait longer, and both experiences can be valid. If your payment is consistently taking exactly 2 days, that's actually a good sign - it means your account is in good standing with no flags that would cause additional delays.

•Oh that makes sense! My last name starts with V so maybe I'm always in a later batch. At least it's consistent though - I can plan for that 2-day wait now that I know it's normal.

When I was on unemployment last year my first couple payments took 2-3 days, but then randomly started showing up next-day. I never figured out why the timing changed. The TWC system is honestly kind of mysterious sometimes lol. One thing I learned: if your payment is delayed more than 3 business days, you should definitely call TWC because it might mean there's a problem with your claim they didn't notify you about. I once had a payment delayed because they randomly selected me for work search verification but the letter got lost in the mail!

wait i just realized something - r u talking about direct deposit to ur bank or loading on the actual twc debit card? cuz those r different. the debit card is always slower than direct deposit to ur regular bank

•I'm using the actual TWC ReliaCard. I didn't set up direct deposit because I thought the card would be faster 🤦♀️ Maybe that's my problem!

•yep thats ur issue! switch to direct deposit to ur normal bank, its usually at least a day faster than the reliacard
