What days does TWC deposit unemployment benefits in Texas?
Can someone tell me what day TWC deposits unemployment payments? I just got approved last week and requested my first payment yesterday. The lady on the phone said something about deposits going out on certain days but I was distracted by my kids and didnt catch it. Does everyone get paid on the same day or is it based on when you request payment?

TWC doesn't have a specific 'payday' like some states do. Your payment is processed 2-3 business days after you submit your payment request. So if you requested on Sunday or Monday, you'll usually receive funds by Wednesday or Thursday. If you requested later in the week, it might be the following Monday. You can check payment status on your TWC account under 'Payment Status' or by calling Tele-Serv (800-558-8321) and selecting option 2. Just make sure all your work search activities were properly recorded.

•Thanks, that makes sense! So it depends on when I do my request. I submitted mine on Sunday so hopefully I'll see something by tomorrow. Do they send an email when the deposit is made or do I just need to keep checking my bank account?

It's SUPPOSED to be 2-3 days after you request but mine always takes like 4-5 days minimum!!! TWC is soooo slow with everything. They make us jump through all these hoops with the work search activities but then take forever to pay us. Drives me crazy.

•Same here at first! My payments were taking almost a week. But I realized my bank was holding the deposits for 1-2 additional days. Once I called my bank and explained these were unemployment benefits, they started processing them faster. Might be worth checking if that's happening to you too.

When I was on unemployment last year, I found that my payment request day affected when I got paid. If I requested payment Sunday night right after the system opened up at 7pm, I'd usually see the money by Tuesday afternoon. If I waited until Monday or Tuesday to request, it would take until Thursday or Friday. The TWC payment status page on your account will show when it's been processed, but there's always a delay between TWC sending the payment and your bank making it available. Direct deposit is definitely faster than the debit card option though!

Make sure you've set up direct deposit correctly in your TWC account. I had a friend who was waiting for payments that never came because she had entered one digit wrong in her account number. Payment status showed "processed" but the money was in limbo. If your payment doesn't show up when expected, double-check your banking info and then call TWC immediately.
