TWC Unemployment Application Error: Forced to Call After Online Submission Fails
I'm so frustrated with the unemployment application process! I was trying to submit my application online and everything was going fine until the very end. Then boom, I get this error message telling me I have to call them. Has anyone else dealt with this? It's so annoying to get all the way through and then have to start over on the phone. Any advice on what to say when I finally get through to someone?

Hey OP, just wanted to say hang in there. I know it's frustrating, but you'll get through this. We're all in the same boat. Sending good vibes your way! β€οΈ

I totally understand the frustration you're feeling. The unemployment application process can often be cumbersome and inefficient. One way to potentially circumvent the lengthy phone wait times is by using services like Claimyr. Claimyr is a tool that automates the dialing process, stays on hold for you, and connects you when an operator is available. While many users have found it worth the cost, it's also important to note that this service is not officially affiliated with any government agencies, so there might be some concerns regarding data privacy and reliability. As with any third-party service, read reviews and determine if it meets your comfort level in terms of security and cost-effectiveness. In the meantime, ensure all your personal documents and information are ready for when you do get through to a representative. Additionally, don't underestimate the power of persistence. Engaging with local representatives or reaching out via multiple communication channels can sometimes escalate your case more quickly.

Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that can help with weird website errors. Might be worth a shot before you spend hours on the phone.

Friendly reminder to everyone: don't forget to certify every two weeks once you're in the system! They don't always send reminders and it can mess up your payments if you forget.

β’Try using a VPN. Sometimes switching your location can help bypass some web errors.

I heard they updated the online system recently. Maybe that's why you're getting errors? Typical government efficiency, amirite? π

β’It's a complex issue. Our systems are large and underfunded, but there's room for improvement with more streamlined technology.

anyone else feel like were living in a dystopian nightmare? like, we pay taxes for this "service" and then have to jump through 1000 hoops just to get help when we need it. smh

β’I hear you. It's worth remembering though, that sometimes the people working in these offices are just as frustrated as we are with the system they're stuck with.

Protip: if u get disconnected after waiting on hold for hours (happened to me twice π), try calling from a different phone number. I swear they blacklist numbers that call too much

Listen up, because I've been through this rodeo before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Call first thing in the morning. Like, the second they open. You'll have a better chance of getting through. 2. Have ALL your docs ready. I'm talking pay stubs, ID, social security card, everything. They might ask for stuff you don't expect. 3. Be polite but firm. The person on the other end is probably dealing with angry people all day. A little kindness goes a long way. 4. Take notes during the call. Write down the name of who you talked to and any case numbers they give you. 5. If they can't help you, ask to speak to a supervisor. Sometimes the first person you talk to doesn't have the authority to fix certain issues. 6. Follow up. If they say they'll do something, call back in a few days to make sure it actually happened. Good luck, and don't give up! The system is a mess, but persistence pays off.

β’Great advice! Iβd also add: keep a digital backup of all your documents. You never know when you might need to resend something.

I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then sends the call to your phone when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of frustration. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

β’I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I couldn't afford to spend all day on hold.

β’I've read some mixed reviews online about Claimyr. While many people say it works, others have had issues with them. Just something to be mindful of!

β’Claimyr sounds interesting, but I'm wary about paying for a service when the government should be providing this more efficiently. Still, it's good to know there are options.

LPT: Record your phone call with the unemployment office (if it's legal in your state). It's saved my butt more than once when they've given me incorrect info.

Plot twist: the website errors are actually a test. If you can navigate the broken system, you're qualified for a job at the unemployment office. π

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through when you're stuck in bureaucratic limbo.

When you call, make sure you have all your info ready. They'll probably ask for your personal details and employment history. Also, ask them to confirm that your application will be submitted once you're done on the phone. Don't want to go through all that just to have it lost in the system!

CosmicCaptain
β’Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely make sure I have everything ready. Did you have to wait on hold for a long time?

Ugh, I went through the exact same thing last week! Got all the way to the final submit button and then BAM - error message saying I had to call. It's like they want to make this as difficult as possible. When I finally got through (after waiting 2.5 hours on hold π©), the rep told me it's a "known issue" with their system. She was actually pretty helpful though and got my application submitted over the phone in about 20 minutes. My advice: call early in the morning, have all your documents ready, and maybe grab a good podcast to listen to while you wait. You got this! πͺ

β’Thanks for sharing your experience! It's really helpful to know that the reps are aware it's a system issue and that they can actually get it done over the phone pretty quickly once you get through. 2.5 hours on hold sounds brutal though! π± Did you have to provide any additional info over the phone that wasn't asked for in the online form?

I had the exact same issue just two weeks ago! It's incredibly frustrating to get all the way through the application only to hit that error wall. I ended up calling at exactly 8 AM when they opened and still waited about an hour and a half on hold. The good news is that once I got through, the representative was really understanding and knew exactly what was going on. She said it's been happening to a lot of people lately due to some glitch in their system. The whole phone process took maybe 15-20 minutes once I actually got connected, and she confirmed my application was successfully submitted. My tip: definitely call first thing in the morning, have your Social Security number and all employment info from the last 18 months ready, and maybe use speaker phone so you can do other things while waiting. Hang in there - you'll get through this! π€

β’Thank you so much for the detailed info! It's really reassuring to know that the reps understand it's a system issue and can handle it quickly once you get through. 15-20 minutes sounds totally manageable compared to what I was expecting. I'll definitely try calling right at 8 AM - that seems to be the consensus from everyone here. Did you notice if they asked for anything different over the phone compared to what the online form was asking for?

I'm going through this exact same nightmare right now! Started my application yesterday and got hit with the same error at the very end. It's so demoralizing to spend all that time filling everything out perfectly just to get kicked back to square one. Reading through everyone's experiences here is actually really helpful though - sounds like calling first thing in the morning is the way to go. I'm planning to set my alarm for 7:55 AM tomorrow and call right when they open. At least now I know it's not just me and that the phone reps are aware of the issue. Thanks everyone for sharing your stories and tips! π

β’You're definitely not alone in this! I just went through the same frustrating experience last month. That 7:55 AM strategy is solid - I did the same thing and got through in about 45 minutes, which felt like a miracle compared to some of the horror stories I'd heard. One thing that helped me was having my phone on speaker and doing some light stretching or organizing while I waited - made the time go by faster and I felt less stressed. The rep I talked to was super understanding and said they've been dealing with this glitch for weeks. Hang in there, you've got this! πͺ
