Locked out of TWC account since May - Can't request payments or reach anyone. Help!
I filed for unemployment back in April and got locked out of my account in May or June due to suspected identity theft. It was a mistake, but I haven't been able to log in or get through on the phone for months. I've tried requesting callbacks multiple times but only got one, which I missed. Now I can't request payments and I'm stuck. Anyone else dealing with this nightmare? Any advice on how to actually talk to a human at TWC?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in a similar situation last year. It's like they WANT us to give up 🙄 Have you tried going to a local workforce office in person? Sometimes that's the only way to get things sorted out.

I hadn't thought of that! Is it just a walk-in thing, or do I need to make an appointment?

It depends on the office, but most are walk-in. Just be prepared to wait... bring a book or something to keep you busy. And bring ALL your documents!

TWC is a joke. I've been trying to get through for weeks. Their phone system is always 'experiencing high call volumes' no matter when you call. It's like they don't even have real people working there anymore.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It costs $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Seems kinda steep just to talk to someone who should be available for free...

I get the skepticism, but honestly, after months of frustration, it was worth every penny to me. Got my issue resolved in one call.

Just tried it. Can confirm it works! Finally got through after trying for weeks on my own.

Here's what you need to do to get this sorted out: 1. Gather all your documentation: ID, social security card, any correspondence from TWC, and proof of your employment history. 2. Try contacting TWC through multiple channels: - Keep calling their main line - Use their online contact form - Reach out via social media (Twitter can be surprisingly effective) - Visit a local office in person if possible 3. Document everything: Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them, including dates, times, and any reference numbers. 4. If all else fails, contact your state representative or senator. They often have staff dedicated to helping constituents with issues like this. 5. Be persistent and patient. It's frustrating, but keep at it. The squeaky wheel gets the grease! Remember, you're entitled to these benefits. Don't let the system wear you down. Good luck!

Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out on Twitter - hadn't thought of that one.

This is solid advice. I'd add: if you do get through, ask for a direct number or extension for follow-up. It can save you a ton of time later.

I know right? 😅 I used the fax number on their website. Just make sure to include your claim number and contact info on every page!

This is why we need to vote for better leadership. The whole system is broken and nobody seems to care about fixing it. We're just numbers to them. 😡

Preach! 🙌 But let's be real, both parties have dropped the ball on this. We need a complete overhaul.

Can we not turn this into a political debate? OP just needs help with their claim.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling right when they open or just before they close. Sometimes you can catch them when the queue is shorter.

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system that was affecting a bunch of accounts. Keep pushing and eventually they'll sort it out. It took me about 2 months of constant calling tho 😩

2 months?! 😱 I hope it doesn't take that long for me. Did they backpay you for the missed weeks at least?

Yeah, they did backpay eventually. Make sure you keep requesting payment even if you're locked out, so there's a record of you trying.

Anyone else notice that their website is always down for 'maintenance' at the most inconvenient times? 🙄 It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible.
