Impossible to reach TWC customer service - alternative phone numbers?

I've been trying to contact TWC for THREE DAYS STRAIGHT about my unemployment claim status. Every single time I call, I either get a busy signal or the automated system tells me 'all agents are busy' and hangs up on me! I've called right when they open at 8am, tried mid-day, and even late afternoon. Nothing works. Teleserv is completely useless for my situation because I need to talk to an actual person about why my payment is still pending after 4 weeks. Has anybody found a secret backdoor number or extension that actually connects to a human? Or maybe a different office that can transfer you? I'm desperate at this point - rent is due next week and I don't know what's happening with my claim.

The TWC phone system is notoriously overwhelmed. What worked for me was calling the Tele-Center number (800-939-6631) but calling exactly at 7:59am and hitting the options as soon as they open at 8am. You have to be lightning fast because their queue fills within minutes. Also try Wednesday or Thursday - Mondays are absolute nightmares.

Thank you! I'll try the 7:59 trick tomorrow morning. Did you just stay on the line until they opened or did you have to redial at exactly 8am?

NONE of the 'tricks' work anymore!! I tried calling at 8am sharp for TWO WEEKS and got nowhere. The system is broken and they don't care about us at all!!

I was in the same situation last month. After wasting hours on failed calls, I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got through to a TWC agent in about 20 minutes. They have this system that holds your place in line and calls you when an agent is available. Saved me days of frustration. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh

have u tried emailing them? sometimes they actually respond faster that way. use the contact form on the website and mark it urgent. worked for me when my id.me verification was stuck

I tried the email option last week but all I got was an automated response saying they'd get back to me in 5-7 business days 😫 It's been 6 days now with nothing.

There's actually a less-known TWC office number that sometimes works better: 512-463-2222. It's the main Austin administrative office, but if you explain your situation politely, sometimes they can transfer you to someone who can help or at least check your claim status. Also, contacting your state representative's office can work wonders - they have special liaisons with TWC who can resolve issues quickly.

That's brilliant! I never thought of trying the admin office. I'll give that number a shot tomorrow if my 7:59am attempt fails. And great idea about the state rep - I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point.

try the fraud department number!! even if ur claim isnt about fraud, someone will pick up and then can transfer u to the right department. worked for me when i was desperate

•

Please DON'T do this. I work in a state agency (not TWC) and this actually makes things worse. It ties up lines for actual fraud cases and most departments have policies against transferring people who use this tactic because it encourages more people to do it. Your claim could get flagged for suspicious activity.

im having the exact same problem!! been calling for days and nothing. teleserve just says my claim is "pending" but doesn't tell me why or what to do. so frustrating!

If your claim shows as pending for more than 3 weeks, it's usually because there's an issue that requires human review. Common reasons include employment separation issues (if your employer contested the claim), wage verification problems, or identity verification. Check your correspondence inbox on the TWC portal - there might be a determination letter or request for information you missed.

I had success with the Claimyr service mentioned above. It cost money but honestly it was worth every penny to finally get through after weeks of trying. My payment had been stuck in pending status because of an employer response that contradicted my claim reason. Once I actually talked to someone, it got resolved in one call.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm seriously considering trying it. At this point, I'd rather pay something than keep wasting hours on failed call attempts. Did you have to provide any sensitive information to use the service?

@OP - It just needed my phone number so they could call me back when they got a TWC agent on the line. The whole process was pretty straightforward. I was skeptical at first but got desperate after two weeks of failed calling attempts.

did they fix ur problem tho? or just connect u to twc? cuz i need my actual issue fixed not just to talk to someone

Another option to consider is visiting your local Workforce Solutions office in person. While they're separate from TWC, they often have direct communication channels with TWC representatives and can sometimes help resolve issues or at least get accurate information about what's holding up your claim. Bring your claim ID number and any correspondence you've received.

Oh that's good to know! There's actually a Workforce Solutions office about 15 minutes from me. I might try that tomorrow if my phone attempts fail again. Do you know if I need to schedule an appointment first?

•

Most Workforce Solutions offices accept walk-ins, but it's always best to call ahead or check their website for the specific location's policy. Some have switched to appointment-only systems since COVID. When you go, make sure to bring ID and any relevant TWC correspondence. The more information you bring, the more likely they can help you.

I feel your pain - I went through the exact same nightmare last month! After trying everything mentioned here, what finally worked for me was a combination approach: I used the 7:59am calling trick on Wednesday morning AND had my state representative's office submit an inquiry on my behalf the same day. The rep's office called me back within 48 hours saying they'd gotten a response from TWC, and my payment was released two days later. Don't overlook the political route - these offices are used to helping with TWC issues and they have direct contacts. You can usually submit a case request online through your rep's website without even having to call them first.

This is exactly what I needed to hear! I've been so focused on just trying to get through by phone that I completely overlooked the political angle. I just looked up my state rep's website and they do have an online form for constituent services. I'm going to submit that today while also trying the early morning calling strategy. Having both approaches working at the same time makes so much sense. Thank you for sharing what actually worked - this gives me hope that I can get this resolved before my rent is due!

I went through this exact same frustrating experience two months ago! What finally worked for me was a multi-pronged approach: I set up the Claimyr service (totally worth the cost - saved me literally days of failed calling), submitted a request through my state representative's constituent services page, AND visited my local Workforce Solutions office in person. The combination of all three got results within a week when nothing had worked for over a month of trying solo. Pro tip: when you do get through to someone (whether via Claimyr or the early morning calling trick), have ALL your information ready - claim number, social security number, employment dates, and any correspondence reference numbers. They move fast and if you're not prepared, you might waste your precious time on the call. Also ask them to email you a summary of what they're doing to fix your issue so you have documentation. Good luck - you WILL get through this!

This is such solid advice! I'm definitely going to try the multi-pronged approach you mentioned. I've been hesitant about spending money on Claimyr, but honestly at this point the stress and lost time is worth way more than whatever they charge. Your tip about having all the documentation ready is gold - I can imagine finally getting through and then fumbling around looking for my claim number! I'm going to write everything down on a sheet of paper and keep it by the phone. Quick question - when you visited Workforce Solutions, did they actually help resolve your TWC issue or just provide guidance? Thanks for the encouragement, I really needed to hear that this will eventually work out!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Been calling for 2 weeks straight with zero success. Reading through all these suggestions is giving me hope though. I'm going to try the combination approach - setting up Claimyr tonight, calling at 7:59am tomorrow, AND submitting a request to my state rep's office. My claim has been "pending" for 6 weeks now with no explanation and I desperately need to talk to someone. Has anyone had success with that Austin admin office number (512-463-2222) that was mentioned earlier? I might try that as backup if the main line doesn't work. This whole system is so broken but it sounds like persistence and multiple strategies are key. Thanks everyone for sharing what actually worked - this community is a lifesaver when you're dealing with TWC's nightmare phone system!

You're absolutely doing the right thing with the multi-pronged approach! I actually tried that Austin admin number (512-463-2222) last week when I was in a similar situation. While they couldn't directly help with my claim, the person who answered was really nice and gave me some insider tips about the best times to call the main line. They said Tuesday-Thursday between 8:15-8:30am tends to have slightly better success rates than right at 8am because the initial rush dies down a bit. Also, they mentioned that if you get the "all agents busy" message, sometimes calling back within 2-3 minutes can work because people hang up and spots open up briefly. It's frustrating that we have to become experts in gaming their phone system, but persistence really does pay off. Hang in there - 6 weeks pending is rough but you're taking all the right steps to get it resolved!

I've been dealing with this same nightmare for weeks! What finally broke through for me was calling the callback service at 512-463-2697 - it's TWC's automated callback system that not many people know about. You enter your info and they call you back when an agent is available (usually within 2-3 hours). Way better than sitting on hold or getting hung up on. Also, if you're really desperate, try calling right at 12:01pm when they come back from lunch break - there's sometimes a brief window where the lines aren't completely slammed. I know how stressful this is when you're waiting on payments, but don't give up! The combination of multiple strategies really does work.

Wait, there's a callback service?! I had no idea that number existed - 512-463-2697. That sounds like a game changer! I'm definitely going to try that today along with all the other strategies people have mentioned. The 12:01pm lunch break tip is really smart too - I never thought about timing it for when they come back from breaks. It's crazy that we have to become detective-level experts just to reach our own state unemployment office, but I really appreciate you sharing these insider tricks. Did the callback service actually connect you to someone who could help with your claim, or did they just transfer you around? Either way, 2-3 hours sounds way better than the endless busy signals I've been getting!

I'm dealing with this exact same frustration right now! Been trying to reach TWC for over a week about my pending claim and it's like they don't want to be contacted at all. Reading through everyone's suggestions here is honestly the most helpful information I've found anywhere. I'm going to try the combination approach - setting up that Claimyr service tonight, attempting the 7:59am calling trick tomorrow, AND submitting a request through my state representative's office. That callback number (512-463-2697) sounds like a total game changer too - can't believe more people don't know about it! It's ridiculous that we have to become experts in gaming the system just to get basic help with our claims, but I'm grateful this community exists to share what actually works. For anyone else reading this thread, definitely try multiple strategies at once rather than just relying on one approach. Thanks everyone for sharing your real experiences - it gives me hope that this nightmare will eventually end!

You're so right about trying multiple strategies! I just went through this exact same ordeal last month and the combination approach is definitely the way to go. That callback number (512-463-2697) was a lifesaver for me too - I actually got a call back in about 90 minutes on a Thursday afternoon, which was way better than the endless busy signals. One thing I'd add to your plan is to also check your TWC correspondence inbox online while you're waiting - sometimes there are determination letters or requests for additional info that you might have missed, and addressing those can actually resolve the pending status without needing to call at all. I found a request for wage verification that had been sitting there for two weeks that I completely missed! Also, when you do get through to someone, ask them to send you a summary email of what they're doing to fix your issue - it helps track progress and gives you something to reference if you need to call back. Good luck with your multi-pronged approach - persistence really does pay off with TWC!

Just wanted to give everyone an update since I was in this exact same boat last month! I tried literally every strategy mentioned in this thread and here's what finally worked: I used the callback number (512-463-2697) that @Fatima Al-Hashimi mentioned while simultaneously having my state rep's office submit an inquiry. The callback system actually worked - got a call back in about 2.5 hours on a Tuesday afternoon. Turns out my claim was stuck because my previous employer had submitted a late response disputing my reason for separation, but nobody had told me! The TWC agent was able to schedule a phone hearing right there on the call and my payments were released 3 days later. Pro tip: that callback system seems to work best Tuesday-Thursday between 1-4pm based on my experience. And definitely check your correspondence inbox online like others have mentioned - there might be something there you missed. Don't give up - the system is broken but persistence with multiple approaches really does work eventually!

This is such a helpful update! I'm so glad you finally got through and got your issue resolved. The fact that your employer disputed your separation reason without you even knowing is exactly the kind of thing that makes this system so frustrating. I'm definitely going to try that callback number this afternoon - Tuesday between 1-4pm sounds like the sweet spot based on your experience. I also just checked my correspondence inbox and sure enough, there's a message from 2 weeks ago that I somehow missed asking for additional employment verification documents. I'm going to upload those right now and then try the callback system. It's crazy that we have to become TWC system experts just to get our benefits, but thank you for sharing what actually worked. This gives me so much hope that my pending claim will finally get resolved soon!

I'm going through this exact nightmare right now too! Been calling for 8 days straight with zero success - it's absolutely maddening. Reading through all these strategies is giving me a roadmap though. I'm planning to try the callback number (512-463-2697) this afternoon during that 1-4pm window that @Ellie Simpson mentioned worked for her. Also going to submit a request through my state rep's office today and set up Claimyr as backup. One thing I noticed from everyone's experiences is that most successful resolutions involved finding out there was some hidden issue or missing document that TWC never properly communicated. I just checked my correspondence inbox after reading these comments and found a request for ID verification from 3 weeks ago that somehow never triggered an email notification! Uploading those docs now. It's ridiculous that their notification system is so broken, but at least now I know to check that inbox regularly. Thanks everyone for sharing what actually worked - this community is honestly more helpful than TWC's own customer service at this point!

You're absolutely right about the communication issues being the root of most problems! I went through this same ordeal a few weeks ago and it's shocking how often there are hidden documents or requests sitting in that correspondence inbox with zero notification. Your ID verification discovery is exactly the kind of thing that keeps claims stuck for weeks unnecessarily. The callback number strategy worked really well for me too - I got through on my second attempt using it on a Wednesday around 2:30pm. One extra tip: when you do get connected, ask the agent to walk through your entire claim timeline and flag any outstanding issues, even minor ones. I discovered I had a wage discrepancy that would have caused problems later if we hadn't caught it during that call. Also, don't hesitate to be persistent with your state rep's office - they're used to TWC issues and often get faster responses than individual callers. The combination approach really is key here. You're taking all the right steps, so hang in there! This community has been a lifesaver for navigating TWC's broken system.

I'm dealing with this exact same situation right now! Been trying to reach TWC for over a week about my pending claim and it's like they've designed the system to be impossible to navigate. This thread is honestly the most useful resource I've found anywhere - way more helpful than TWC's own website or help pages. Based on everyone's experiences here, I'm going to try the multi-strategy approach: using that callback number (512-463-2697) during the 1-4pm window, submitting a request through my state representative's office, and setting up Claimyr as backup. The fact that so many people found hidden correspondence or missing documents in their inbox is eye-opening - I just checked mine and found a wage verification request from 2 weeks ago that I somehow never received an email about! It's absolutely ridiculous that we have to become TWC system experts just to access our own benefits, but I'm grateful this community exists to share real solutions. The combination of the callback system + state rep inquiry seems to be the most effective approach based on the success stories here. Thanks everyone for sharing what actually worked instead of just complaining - this gives me hope that I can finally get my claim resolved!
