Need working TWC phone number - regular line always busy

I've been trying to reach TWC for 3 days straight and can't get through. Every time I call the main unemployment number (800-939-6631) it's either busy or disconnects me after the automated message. I need to speak with someone about my claim status because the online system shows 'pending' but doesn't tell me what's missing or what I need to do. Does anyone have a different number that actually works? Or any tricks to get through? This is so frustrating!

I had the EXACT same problem last month! After trying for days, I found a service called Claimyr that got me through to TWC in about 20 minutes. It basically keeps calling for you until it gets through, then connects you. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh\n\nIt was such a relief to finally talk to someone after banging my head against the wall for a week. The agent helped me figure out that my ID.me verification hadn't properly linked to my TWC account.

Thanks for the suggestion! Did you have to give them any personal info? I'm always cautious about that kind of stuff.

The main number is actually your best option, but timing is everything. I recommend calling Tuesday-Thursday between 8:00-8:30am or 4:30-5:00pm. Those tend to be slightly less busy. Also, when you get to the menu options, sometimes selecting Spanish and then asking for English can connect you to agents with shorter queues.\n\nIf your claim is showing as pending, it could be several things:\n- Identity verification issue (ID.me)\n- Waiting for employer response\n- Work search requirement verification\n- Wage verification\n\nCan you see any correspondence or determination letters in your online account? That might give you a clue what's happening without needing to call.

Thank you for the detailed advice! I'll try those specific times tomorrow. There aren't any new messages in my correspondence inbox, which is why I'm so confused. The last thing I got was the initial confirmation when I applied 3 weeks ago.

TWC is THE WORST!!! I literally had to call 137 times in one day before getting through last month. The system is DESIGNED to keep people from getting help. I finally got through and then they put me on hold for another 45 minutes!!! When I finally talked to someone they told me I was missing ONE document that nobody ever told me I needed to upload. The whole system is broken on purpose!

This happened to me too. I found out later that if you look carefully at your TWC account online under \

Have you tried contacting your state representative? When I couldn't get through for weeks, I emailed my state rep's office and they have a liaison who can contact TWC directly. They helped me resolve my issue in about 4 days. Google \

That's actually great advice - I forgot about that option. My sister had to do this last year when her account got locked and she couldn't get through to anyone for weeks. The state rep's office was surprisingly helpful.

There are a few specific strategies that might help you reach TWC more efficiently:\n\n1. Call the Tele-Serv automated line (800-558-8321) first to check if there's a specific issue code on your claim that might direct you to the right department\n\n2. If you're getting the busy signal constantly, try the TWC Tele-Center alternative number: 888-872-8414 (this works for some people)\n\n3. Your claim showing as \

Thank you so much for these detailed suggestions! I didn't know about the alternative Tele-Center number - I'll definitely try that tomorrow. And I'll check those specific inbox filters too. I've been requesting payments but was worried I might be doing something wrong since nothing has changed in 3 weeks.

I tried the chat but it just gave me automated responses that didn't help with my specific situation. Maybe I'll try again though.

I went through this same nightmare a few months ago! Here's what finally worked for me: I used a redial app on my phone that kept calling automatically while I did other things. It took about 2 hours but eventually got through. Also, check if your employer submitted their response yet - sometimes claims get stuck waiting for that. You can usually see this under "Determinations" or "Correspondence" in your account. If it's been 3 weeks with no movement, there's definitely something holding it up that needs to be addressed. One more tip: if you have a smartphone, try calling from a different phone number (like a friend's phone). Sometimes they have call volume limits per number and switching can help you get through faster.

The redial app idea is brilliant! I never thought of that - which app did you use? And yes, I should definitely check the determinations section more carefully. I've mostly just been looking at the main status page. The different phone number tip is interesting too - I'll try calling from my work phone tomorrow. Thanks for all the practical suggestions!

I feel your frustration! I went through this exact same thing a few months back. Here's what I learned from my experience: First, definitely try that alternative number (888-872-8414) that Ava mentioned - it worked better for me than the main line. Also, I had success calling at exactly 7:59 AM and staying on the line even when it seemed like nothing was happening. One thing that really helped me was creating a simple log of every call attempt - time, what happened, how long I waited, etc. It helped me identify patterns and also gave me specific details when I finally got through to an agent. For your "pending" status after 3 weeks, that's definitely not normal. In my case, it turned out my employer hadn't responded to their notice yet, but TWC never told me that was the holdup. When I finally got through, the agent was able to see exactly what was missing and expedite the process. If all else fails, definitely reach out to your state representative like ElectricDreamer suggested. I wish I had known about that option earlier - would have saved me weeks of stress! Good luck, and don't give up. The system is frustrating but you'll get through eventually.

This is such helpful advice, thank you! I love the idea of keeping a call log - that's so smart and would definitely help me stay organized instead of just getting more frustrated each time. I'm going to start doing that today. The timing tip about calling at exactly 7:59 AM is interesting too - I've been calling right at 8:00 but maybe getting in just before the hour helps beat the rush. And you're absolutely right about the employer response piece - I should check if that's what's holding things up. I'm definitely going to try the state representative route if I can't get through by the end of this week. It's good to know that option actually works and isn't just bureaucratic runaround. Thanks for sharing your experience - it really helps to know I'm not alone in this struggle!
