How long after TWC appeal reversal until benefits are paid?

Finally got my appeal decision back from the Commission and they reversed the previous determination in my favor! I've been fighting this for almost 2 months now. Has anyone gone through this process before? How long does it typically take for the money to actually hit your account after they reverse a decision? My rent is due next week and I'm getting anxious about timing. I checked my payment status online but it just shows 'pending' with no estimated date.

Congrats on winning ur appeal! Mine took like 8 days to show up after they reversed my disqualification last month. Some of my coworkers got it faster tho, like 3-4 days. Depends on ur bank too I think

Thanks, that gives me a better idea. Did you get a notification when they processed it or did it just show up in your account?

When a Commission reversal happens, TWC typically processes payments within 3-7 business days. However, I've seen it take up to 14 days in some cases, especially if there were multiple weeks of back payments. Your payment status showing 'pending' is actually a good sign - it means they're processing it. If it doesn't change to 'processed' within 5 business days, you might want to try contacting TWC directly to make sure there aren't any other issues holding up your payment. Sometimes there can be additional verification steps needed even after a favorable appeal decision.

This is correct. Also worth noting that if your appeal covers multiple payment request periods, they sometimes process them in batches rather than all at once, which can make the total time longer.

I WON MY APPEAL back in january and STILL havent seen a DIME!!! Been calling TWC for WEEKS and all I get is busy signals or get disconnected after waiting 2+ hours!!! This system is COMPLETELY BROKEN and they DO NOT CARE about us!!!! Good luck getting your $$$$ anytime soon!!!

0 coins

That's definitely not normal and shouldn't be happening. If your appeal was decided in your favor in January and it's now April, something else must be wrong. Did you check your correspondence inbox on the TWC portal to see if they sent you any notices requesting additional information?

Yes I checked EVERYTHING and called 50+ times!!! They keep saying 'we'll put a note in your file' but NOTHING HAPPENS!!! This is ridiculous!!

After dealing with the same frustrating situation last month, I was about to lose my mind trying to reach someone at TWC. I kept getting busy signals or disconnected after hours on hold. A friend recommended Claimyr (claimyr.com) and it actually worked! They got me connected to a TWC agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending days trying to get through. The agent was able to tell me exactly why my payment was delayed and fixed it while I was on the phone. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh. Definitely worth it to avoid the stress of waiting and wondering.

Im gonna check this out right now, at this point ill try ANYTHING to get my money!!!

does this actually work? seems weird that a third party can get you through when the regular number doesn't work

0 coins

Yes, it legitimately works. They use a system that keeps dialing on your behalf and then connects you once they get through. The TWC agent I spoke with was super helpful once I actually got someone on the line.

my cousin had this happen and he said it was about 10 days i think. but he had direct deposit setup so that probably made it faster. do you have direct deposit or are they mailing you a card? mail takes forever these days lol

I've got direct deposit set up, so hopefully that speeds things up! Just anxious because I've already waited so long for this appeal decision.

To add some clarity here: When the Commission reverses a determination in your favor, TWC has to do several things: 1. Process the reversal in their system 2. Calculate all weeks you're eligible for retroactively 3. Apply any work search requirements or other eligibility factors 4. Then release the payment This typically takes 3-7 business days as mentioned, but direct deposit is usually faster than debit card payments. Your payment status showing 'pending' means they're actively working on it. If it's been more than 7 business days since your favorable decision AND the status is still pending, then I'd recommend contacting them directly. One other thing to note: if you had stopped requesting payment while waiting for the appeal, you may need to submit those requests retroactively. The determination letter should explain this if applicable.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! I've continued doing my payment requests every two weeks while the appeal was in process, so hopefully that will help things move faster. The decision letter arrived on Tuesday, so it sounds like I should give it until at least next Tuesday before getting too concerned.

same thing happened to me! it took 5 days for mine to show up. what was ur appeal for? i had to fight them saying i quit when i was actually laid off. took forever but i won!

Mine was also about job separation - they initially said I was fired for misconduct but I provided evidence showing it was actually a position elimination due to restructuring. Glad you won your case too!

did u get paid yet? curious how long it ended up taking

Just got the deposit this morning! So it was 6 business days total from when I received the appeal decision. Such a relief!

That's great news that you got your money! For anyone else going through appeals, it's worth keeping track of the timeline. From what I've seen in this thread and my own experience, most people get their payments within 3-7 business days after a favorable Commission decision, especially with direct deposit. The key is making sure you keep doing your payment requests during the appeal process so there's no additional delay once they reverse the decision.

Congrats on winning your appeal! I went through a similar situation last year and the waiting is absolutely nerve-wracking. In my case, it took about 4 business days for the payment to show up after the Commission reversed my determination. I had direct deposit set up which probably helped speed things along. The "pending" status you're seeing is actually a good sign - it means they're actively processing your payment rather than having it stuck somewhere in the system. Since you got your decision on Tuesday, I'd expect to see movement by early next week. Hang in there, you're almost at the finish line!

0 coins

That's really encouraging to hear! The waiting is definitely the hardest part, especially when you've already been fighting for so long. It's good to know that 4 days is pretty typical - gives me hope that I might see something by the end of this week or early next week. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Just wanted to add my experience since I see you already got your money - that's awesome! For anyone else reading this thread who might be in a similar situation, I went through this exact same process about 6 months ago. My appeal took forever (like 10 weeks) but once the Commission reversed it in my favor, the payment showed up in 5 business days via direct deposit. One thing I learned is that if you have any outstanding issues on your claim (like identity verification or work search documentation), those can still hold up payment even after a favorable appeal decision. So if it's been more than a week and you're still showing pending, definitely check your correspondence inbox for any requests they might have sent you. The appeal win is the hard part - the payment usually follows pretty quickly after that!

0 coins

Thanks for sharing that insight about outstanding issues potentially causing delays! That's really helpful to know. I was lucky that I didn't have any other complications after my appeal was approved, but I can see how identity verification or work search issues could definitely slow things down even after winning the appeal. It's great that this thread has so many different experiences documented - should be really useful for anyone else going through this stressful process in the future.

I'm currently waiting for my appeal decision and this thread is so helpful! It's encouraging to see that most people get their payments within a week once the Commission reverses in their favor. I've been fighting my case for about 6 weeks now after they initially said I was terminated for cause, but I have documentation showing it was actually a layoff due to budget cuts. The waiting is brutal but seeing Emma got her money in 6 days gives me hope. Did anyone else have issues with getting through to TWC during their appeal process? I've been trying to call for status updates but can never get through.

Good luck with your appeal! The documentation showing it was a layoff rather than termination for cause should definitely work in your favor. As for getting through to TWC, I had the same problem - it's nearly impossible to reach them by phone. Earlier in this thread, someone mentioned using Claimyr to help get connected faster, which might be worth looking into if you really need to speak with someone. But honestly, once you get that favorable appeal decision, the payment usually processes automatically without needing to call them. The hardest part is just waiting for the Commission to make their decision. Hang in there!

Based on everyone's experiences here, it sounds like you should expect your payment within 3-7 business days once TWC processes the reversal, especially with direct deposit. I went through a similar appeal process last fall and the anxiety while waiting for the money is real! What helped me was checking the payment status every morning rather than obsessively refreshing throughout the day. The "pending" status you're seeing is actually progress - it means they've acknowledged the reversal and are working on processing your back payments. Since your decision came back Tuesday, you're probably looking at seeing the deposit by early next week at the latest. Keep your chin up, you've already won the hardest part!

0 coins

That's really solid advice about checking once a day instead of constantly refreshing! I made that mistake during my own appeal process and it just made the anxiety worse. You're absolutely right that getting the favorable decision is the hardest part - once TWC has that Commission reversal, the payment processing is usually pretty straightforward. For anyone else going through this, I'd also recommend taking screenshots of your payment status and appeal decision just to have documentation in case anything gets mixed up later. The relief when that deposit finally hits is incredible after months of fighting!

This is such a helpful thread! I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - just got my Commission decision last Friday reversing TWC's initial determination. It's reassuring to see that most people get their payments within 3-7 business days, especially with direct deposit. The waiting is definitely nerve-wracking when you've already been fighting for months. Emma, I'm glad you got your money in 6 days! That gives me hope that I should see something by the end of this week. For anyone else going through this, it seems like keeping up with your payment requests during the appeal process is really important to avoid additional delays once you win.

That's encouraging to hear you got your decision on Friday! Based on all the experiences shared in this thread, you should definitely see movement by the end of this week or early next week. I'm actually going through my first appeal right now and this whole discussion has been incredibly valuable for understanding the timeline. It's such a relief to see that once you win the appeal, the payment processing is usually pretty quick and straightforward. The hardest part really does seem to be getting that favorable Commission decision in the first place. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences here - it's making this stressful process a lot more manageable for those of us still waiting!

This thread has been incredibly helpful for understanding the timeline after winning an appeal! I'm currently in week 3 of waiting for my Commission decision, and seeing that most people get their payments within 3-7 business days after a favorable reversal is really encouraging. Emma, congrats on getting your money in 6 days - that must have been such a relief after fighting for 2 months! For anyone else going through this process, it sounds like the key things are: 1) keep doing your payment requests during the appeal, 2) make sure you have direct deposit set up, and 3) don't panic if it takes up to a week for the payment to process after the reversal. The "pending" status seems to be normal and actually a good sign that they're working on it. Thanks to everyone who shared their timelines - this kind of real experience data is so much more helpful than the vague info you get from TWC's website!

You're absolutely right about this being so much more helpful than TWC's vague official info! I'm just starting my appeal process now and reading through everyone's experiences here has given me a much clearer picture of what to expect. It's great to see that once you get past the Commission decision hurdle, the payment timeline is pretty consistent across different cases. Good luck with your week 3 wait - sounds like you're getting close to a decision! The fact that Emma and others got their money so quickly after winning gives me hope that all this stress and waiting will be worth it in the end.

This thread is exactly what I needed to see right now! I just won my appeal yesterday and have been anxiously checking my payment status every few hours. Seeing that most people get their money within 3-7 business days with direct deposit is such a relief. Emma, huge congrats on getting your payment in 6 days - that gives me so much hope! I've been fighting this for about 8 weeks after they initially denied me for "voluntary quit" when I was actually laid off due to company downsizing. The stress of waiting has been unreal, especially with bills piling up. It's really encouraging to see that once you get past the Commission hurdle, the payment processing seems pretty straightforward. Thanks to everyone who shared their timelines - this real-world data is way more useful than anything on TWC's website!

Congrats on winning your appeal yesterday! That's such a huge relief after 8 weeks of fighting. Based on all the experiences shared here, you should definitely see your payment by early next week since you have the Commission decision in hand. The "voluntary quit" vs layoff distinction seems to be a common issue that TWC gets wrong initially. It's frustrating that we have to go through this whole appeals process when the documentation is usually pretty clear, but at least the payments do come through relatively quickly once you win. Keep checking that payment status - you're so close to the finish line now!
