PA UC website changed for weekly claims - anyone else notice differences today?
Just logged in to file my weekly unemployment claim and the entire website layout looks different! The navigation menu moved, the colors changed, and even the questions seem reworded. Did PA UC update their system overnight? Anyone else file today and notice this? I managed to complete my claim but I'm nervous I might have messed something up since everything looked so unfamiliar. Should I be worried or is this just a normal update?

OMG yes!!!! I thought I was losing my mind this morning! The whole site is totally different and I almost couldn't find where to submit my work search activities. Why do they make these changes with ZERO warning?? Took me like 20 extra minutes to figure it out.

•So glad it's not just me! Did your confirmation page look different too? Mine didn't have the usual confirmation number format.

The PA UC system underwent a scheduled update last night. This is part of their modernization efforts that was announced in their February newsletter. The core functionality remains the same, but they've reorganized the navigation menu and updated the interface. Your claims will process normally as long as you received a confirmation at the end. If you completed all sections including your work search activities, you should be fine.

•Thank you! I did get a confirmation but it looked different than usual. I wish they would've sent an email about this change. Do you know if we need to do anything different for next week's claim?

•No, you won't need to do anything different next week. The questions and requirements remain the same - it's just the visual presentation that's changed. The confirmation format is new but serves the same purpose. I recommend taking screenshots of your confirmations until you're comfortable with the new system. Also, double-check that your contact information is up-to-date in the new interface.

I noticed it too! My sister filed yesterday and had the old site, then I filed today and everything was different. The work search entry page is actually better now IMO, but I kept getting confused about which button to press next.

This is TYPICAL PA UC nonsense. They spend millions on website "updates" but still can't process claims correctly or answer the phone. I've been trying to get through to someone for THREE WEEKS about an open issue on my claim. Website looks pretty now but still IMPOSSIBLE to reach an actual human being when you have a problem!!!!

•I was stuck in the same situation last month with an open issue. After two weeks of constant busy signals, I found this service called Claimyr that got me through to a rep in about 30 minutes. It basically keeps calling for you until it gets through, then connects you. Saved me hours of frustration. Their site is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2

This was actually announced on the PA Department of Labor website two weeks ago, but they didn't do a great job of publicizing it. The new system has some important improvements: 1. Better mobile compatibility for filing on phones 2. Streamlined work search reporting 3. More detailed claim status information 4. Improved document upload functionality 5. Better security features to prevent fraud If you encounter any specific issues with the new interface, they've set up a dedicated email for reporting problems: UCsystemfeedback@pa.gov (though response times vary). The core filing process remains unchanged, so as long as you answered all questions and received any type of confirmation, your claim should process normally.

•Thank you for this detailed information! I didn't see any announcement, but I'm glad to know about the improvements. The mobile compatibility will be really helpful since I sometimes have to file from my phone. I'll keep that email address handy in case I run into any problems next week.

Has anyone else had trouble with the work search entry page? Mine kept glitching when I tried to save my second work search activity. I had to enter it three times before it finally accepted it!

•I didn't have that specific issue but the dropdown menus for selecting work search activity types were super laggy for me. Probably just high traffic with everyone trying to figure out the new system at once.

Quick update: The PA UC office just posted on their official Twitter account that they're aware of some minor glitches with the work search reporting section of the new website. They recommend taking screenshots of your work search activities before submitting just in case. They expect to have these issues resolved by next week. Your benefits shouldn't be delayed as long as you completed the claim and received any type of confirmation.

•Thanks for keeping us updated! I'll definitely take screenshots next week. Has anyone heard if they're planning more changes or is this update finished?

•According to their modernization roadmap, this is phase 1 of 3. The next update is scheduled for August 2025 and will focus on the appeals process and document management system. The final phase will update the employer portal side of things in November. But the weekly claims process should remain stable after these current adjustments are ironed out.
