PA UC payment reversed without warning - still eligible for 6 more weeks?

I'm freaking out right now! Just checked my account and saw that my UC payment posted this morning, but then a few hours later it was REVERSED! No explanation, no messages, nothing! I still have 6 more weeks of eligibility left on my benefit year according to my dashboard. Has anyone experienced this before? Could this just be a system glitch? Will my payment still process tomorrow?? I've got rent due next week and really need this money to come through.

Yes, this happened to me back in January. The payment showed up in my account around 6am, then disappeared by noon. I panicked too but it turned out to be a processing issue with the Money Network system. My payment showed up again the next day and stayed. Check your claim status online - if it still shows as "payable" you should be fine.

Thank you!! Just checked and my claim status still says "payable" so hopefully you're right and it'll reappear tomorrow. Been on edge all day about this.

this happens EVERY TIME the banking system does maintenance!! they never warn anybody and everyone freaks out. happened to me 3 times already this year

Not always maintenance. Mine disappeared once because they flagged my account for "suspicious activity" which was literally just me logging in from my sister's wifi. Had to call and verify my identity all over again 🙄

There are a few potential explanations for a reversed payment: 1. System processing delay - payments sometimes appear then disappear before final processing 2. Payment flagged for review - this can happen randomly or if something in your recent weekly certifications triggered a review 3. Benefit year recalculation - sometimes near the end of eligibility they recalculate remaining amounts I'd recommend checking if: - Your weekly certification status shows "payable" - There are any new "open issues" on your dashboard - Your payment summary shows the transaction as "pending" vs "reversed" If your status still shows payable with no open issues, it's likely just a processing delay and should resolve within 24-48 hours.

Just double checked and it does say "payable" with no open issues. Really hope you're right about the 24-48 hour thing. I've never had this happen before in my entire claim!

The EXACT same thing happened to me last week!!! Payment showed up, disappeared, then came back the next day. PA UC system is such a joke sometimes. They can't even put a notice on the website to warn people this might happen? How hard would that be??!!

they did it to me THREE TIMES and everytime i called nobody could explain it. waste of time calling anyway since u cant get through to anyone

If you really need to get in touch with a PA UC agent to check on your payment status, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was in a similar situation with a payment issue and spent days trying to get through on the phone. Used their service and got connected to an agent in about 15 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. Saved me a ton of stress when I was dealing with payment problems.

I'll keep that in mind if my payment doesn't show up tomorrow. The thought of spending hours calling just to get disconnected makes me want to scream.

Have you been filing your work search activities every week? When I was getting close to the end of my benefit year they started reviewing all my past work search activities and my payments got delayed for a bit. If you've been keeping up with everything it's probably just a glitch like others said tho.

Yes I've been super careful about the work search. I had a friend get disqualified for missing those so I always do at least 4 activities even though they only require 2. Good thought though!

Same happened to me but turned out my benefit year was ending and they were reviewing my claim. Check your benefit year end date - might be coming up sooner than you think. The 6 weeks of payments you think you have might be based on your financial determination but if your benefit year ends that trumps everything else.

This is an important point. Your benefit year (typically 52 weeks from when you first applied) and your benefit amount (how many weeks of payment you qualify for) are separate things. You can have remaining benefits but still reach the end of your benefit year, which would require filing a new application.

Any update? Did your payment come through today?

YES!! Payment showed up this morning and hasn't disappeared! You were right - must have been some kind of processing glitch. Thanks everyone for helping me not completely panic yesterday.

For future reference, take screenshots whenever you see payments post then disappear. I had to provide evidence once when this happened repeatedly and having the screenshots helped.

That's really smart advice. I'll definitely do that from now on.
