PA UC open issue count dropped from two to one - is my claim finally being processed?
I'm kinda freaking out right now, but in a good way? I've been checking my PA unemployment dashboard obsessively for the past 5 weeks. This whole time it's been showing TWO open issues and absolutely zero movement. I even sent messages through the portal that never got answered. But this morning when I logged in, there's only ONE open issue showing! Does this mean someone is finally looking at my claim? Has anyone else had this happen? Does dropping from 2 issues to 1 usually mean they're working on it, or is this just a system glitch getting my hopes up? I'm about to run out of savings and really need this to come through soon.

Yea that's happening to everybody. System glitches all the time don't get excited lol. My claim went from 3 issues to 1 then back to 2 then approved with no explanation

•Really? Ugh that's so frustrating. How long did yours take from start to finish?

It's actually a good sign! When the number of open issues decreases, it typically means an examiner has resolved at least one of the issues on your claim. The PA UC system updates as examiners work through each separate issue, so seeing one disappear usually indicates progress. Keep checking your dashboard and correspondence section daily, as they might request additional information for the remaining issue.

•Thank you so much! That gives me some hope. I'll keep checking for messages. Do you know roughly how long it usually takes for them to resolve the second issue after the first one?

•This happened to me too!! One issue disappeared and then nothing for 2 weeks and I was going crazy. Then suddenly everything was approved and I got backpay for all weeks.

THE SYSTEM IS A COMPLETE DISASTER!!!! I had 4 issues, then 2, then 3 again, then finally approved after THREE MONTHS of waiting. They never even told me what the issues were! Just keep filing your weekly claims NO MATTER WHAT so you get all your backpay when they finally fix it. And don't trust anything you see online - the only thing that matters is when the money hits your account.

•Three months?? I can't wait that long! Did you try calling them to speed things up?

Usually when an issue disappears, it means an examiner reviewed and resolved that specific issue. However, they still need to review the remaining issue before your claim can be approved for payment. There's no guaranteed timeline as it depends on their current workload and the complexity of your specific issue. Keep filing your weekly claims while you wait so you'll receive all eligible backpay once approved.

Have you tried calling them? I was stuck with open issues for weeks and couldn't get through on the phone at all - constant busy signals. I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got through to an actual person in about 30 minutes. They were able to tell me exactly what my remaining issue was and what I needed to provide to resolve it. Totally worth checking out their video demo: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 - saved me weeks of waiting and wondering!

•If your claim has been stuck with an open issue since February, you should definitely contact them directly. That's an unusually long wait time, even for PA UC. There might be something specific they need from you that wasn't communicated properly.

Just wanted to follow up - how's your claim status looking now? Has the second issue been resolved or are you still waiting?

•Update: I used that Claimyr service to get through to someone on the phone yesterday! The rep told me the first issue was a wage verification that got resolved, and the remaining issue is about my separation reason. They're sending me a questionnaire I need to fill out. At least now I know what's happening! Thanks everyone for the help and advice.

•That's great news! So glad you were able to get through and get some real answers. Getting that questionnaire filled out promptly should help move things along. Hopefully you'll see some movement on your claim soon once they review your separation reason response. Keep us posted on how it goes!

That's awesome that you got through with Claimyr and finally have some clarity! I've been following your situation and it's so frustrating how they don't communicate what the actual issues are. At least now you know it's a separation reason questionnaire - those are usually pretty straightforward to fill out. Just make sure you're honest and detailed about why you left your job. Once you submit that, hopefully the last issue will clear quickly and you'll get all your backpay. Thanks for updating us - it gives hope to those of us still stuck in limbo!

•This is such a relief to hear! I've been dealing with similar open issues and the lack of communication from PA UC has been driving me crazy. It's encouraging to see that Claimyr actually works - I've been hesitant to try third-party services but hearing success stories like this makes me want to give it a shot. The separation reason questionnaire shouldn't be too complicated, just make sure you have all your documentation ready when you fill it out. Fingers crossed your claim gets approved quickly now that you know what they need!
