PA UC claim status changed from denial to approval - when will payment transaction numbers appear?

Really confused about my unemployment claim right now! In a single day, I went from denial to approval. First I got a denial determination in the morning, then a few hours later got an email saying the determination was 'vacated' (whatever that means??), and then about an hour after that received an approval! My dashboard now shows benefit amounts but no transaction numbers yet. For those who've been through this rollercoaster before - how long does it typically take for transaction numbers to show up after approval? I'm trying to budget and need to know when I'll actually see the money hit my Money Network card. Thanks!

Congrats on the approval! When mine finally got approved after being in limbo for weeks, the transaction numbers showed up about 2-3 business days after the claim dashboard updated with amounts. But dont get too excited yet - even with transaction numbers, it took another 3 days for the money to actually be on my card. PA UC moves at snails pace for everything lol

Thanks for the timeline! Do weekends count in the 2-3 days or just business days? I'm literally down to my last $20 so trying to figure out if I need to borrow money from family to make it through the week.

good sign they fixed it same day!! mine was stuck for 2 months with no movement at all. sounds like someone actually looked at ur claim

This is actually unusual for PA UC to resolve so quickly. "Vacated" means they canceled the previous determination (the denial) to replace it with a new one (the approval). The system is working as designed in this case, which is rare! Most claims with determination issues take weeks to resolve without intervention.

I had the EXACT same thing happen last month!!! First denied then vacated then approved all in one day. Transaction numbers showed up next morning around 6am and money was on card the following Monday (this happened on a Thursday for me). PA UC system is so weird sometimes.

That's really helpful to know! Fingers crossed mine follows the same timeline. Did you have to do anything to make it happen or did it just process automatically?

Unfortunately the PA unemployment system is COMPLETELY BROKEN and you might be waiting FOREVER for your money!!! I got approval SEVEN WEEKS AGO and still no payment!!! Called 87 TIMES and never got through to a human!!! They just want us to give up and go away!!!

While delays can happen, what you're describing isn't typical once a claim is fully approved with benefit amounts showing. If you've been approved for 7 weeks with no payment, you likely have another open issue that wasn't communicated. Have you checked your dashboard for messages or your document center for correspondence? There's often a secondary issue that needs resolving like identity verification or work search compliance.

PA UC typically updates transaction numbers overnight during their processing batch (usually between 3-6 AM). Since you already see benefit amounts, you should see transaction numbers within 1-2 business days. From there, it's typically 2-3 business days until the funds appear on your Money Network card. So in total, expect 3-5 business days from seeing benefit amounts to receiving funds. A few things to note: 1. The system does not process on weekends 2. Your first payment may take slightly longer than subsequent payments 3. If this is your first payment, your waiting week will be deducted 4. Make sure your payment method is set up correctly in the dashboard The "vacated" status means they canceled the denial determination to replace it with the approval - this is actually a good sign that someone reviewed your claim promptly.

This is so helpful, thank you! I didn't realize they don't process on weekends. Since today is Thursday, does that mean I probably won't see the money until next week sometime? And yes, this would be my first payment if it goes through.

I had a similar thing happen with my claim but it took forever to get fixed cuz i couldnt get through to anyone on the phone. Kept getting busy signals for weeks! Finally i found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me through to a PA UC agent in like 30 minutes. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 Totally worth it to actually talk to someone who could fix my claim status. Once I got through, the transaction numbers showed up the next day.

does that actually work? ive been trying to call for days and cant get thru

Yep! Only way I finally got someone on the phone. After weeks of trying, I got through in under an hour.

To clarify the timeline expectations: - Transaction numbers typically appear 1-2 business days after approval with benefit amounts - First payment usually takes 3-5 business days from approval to deposit - If today is Thursday, you might see transaction numbers tomorrow (Friday) - Since PA UC doesn't process on weekends, the actual deposit would likely occur Monday or Tuesday of next week Your situation of getting denial → vacated → approval in one day suggests a claims examiner manually reviewed and corrected your claim, which is actually quite efficient compared to the usual timeline. The vacated status simply means they nullified the previous determination to issue a new one.

Thanks for breaking this down so clearly! That makes sense about when to expect it. I'm relieved to hear my timeline isn't unusual and that things are moving in the right direction.

Just wondering...what was the denial for in the first place? I'm curious if we had the same issue because mine was almost the exact same timeline!

They initially denied me because they said I didn't provide sufficient information about my last employer, but I definitely filled out everything correctly in the application. I'm guessing someone just reviewed it and realized all the info was actually there? What was your situation?

Mine was because they said I didn't respond to some questionnaire that I never received in the first place! Then someone must have checked and seen I couldn't respond to something I never got. The system is so messed up sometimes.

Just an FYI - make sure you continue filing your weekly claims even while waiting for the payment to show up. I made the mistake of thinking I didn't need to file during that limbo period and lost a week of benefits. Don't be like me!

Oh that's a really good reminder, thank you! I'll make sure to keep filing on schedule.

I had something similar happen about 6 months ago - went from denial to approval in the same day! In my case, the transaction numbers appeared on the Friday afternoon (claim was approved on Thursday), and I had the money on my card by the following Tuesday. Since you're already seeing benefit amounts on your dashboard, that's the hardest part behind you. The waiting is brutal when you're down to your last $20 though - I totally get that stress. Just keep checking your dashboard early in the morning (around 6-7 AM) over the next couple days, that's usually when the system updates with transaction numbers.
