PA UC appeal won but 2025 claims still disqualified - urgent help needed!
I'm super confused and need help ASAP! I had my appeal hearing over the phone this Tuesday (I quit my retail job in December due to unsafe working conditions). Got an email today saying I WON my appeal since my former employer never showed up for the hearing. When I checked my UC dashboard, all my backdated claims from January 2024 now show 'In Progress' status which is great news. But here's the weird part - every single claim I've filed since January 2025 still says 'Disqualified' instead of updating! Has anyone experienced this before? Do I need to file another appeal for the 2025 claims or will the system eventually update everything? I'm worried about calling and messing something up when it might resolve itself...

Congrats on winning your appeal! The system doesn't always update everything at once. When I won my appeal last year, my older claims updated first, then a few days later the newer ones changed status too. The UC computer system runs different update batches throughout the week. I'd give it 3 business days before getting too worried - they're probably working through the updates in chronological order. If nothing changes by Monday, then definitely call.

•Thank you so much! That makes me feel a lot better. I'll try to be patient and wait until Monday. Do you think I should keep filing my weekly claims as normal even though they still show as disqualified?

•That's a relief to hear! So I shouldn't call them yet, right? I'm just worried about messing up my benefits after fighting so hard to win the appeal.

I'm dealing with a similar issue but the OPPOSITE problem - my newer claims updated first and the older ones still say disqualified after 2 weeks!!!!! The system is a COMPLETE JOKE. I've called 45+ times and can't get through. Left messages in my dashboard and zero response. They expect us to follow all their rules perfectly but they can't even update their own system correctly?? The whole department is a disaster and nobody there knows what they're doing. If you manage to get through, please update us on what they say!

I went through something similar after winning my appeal in February. Here's what I learned that might help you: 1) Keep filing your weekly claims even if they show as disqualified 2) The system typically updates in batches, with older claims processing first 3) The update can take 5-10 business days to fully complete 4) If you see any movement (like your 2024 claims changing status), that's a good sign the process is working If nothing changes after 7 business days, you'll need to speak with a UC representative. Instead of dealing with busy signals all day, I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to PA UC. They have a service that connects you with an agent without the endless redial frustration. You can see how it works here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 Hope this helps and congrats on winning your appeal!

•Thank you for the detailed response! I'll definitely keep filing my weekly claims then. I'm on day 2 of waiting so I'll try to be patient for at least a week. That service sounds helpful - I'll check it out if I end up needing to call. Did they explain to you why the system works this way with the delayed updates?

This is actually normal system behavior following an appeal decision. The PA UC mainframe processes claim updates in batches based on benefit week ending dates. Here's what's happening: 1. Your 2024 claims are being processed first because they're older 2. The 2025 claims will update automatically, but it takes 3-7 business days for the full process 3. The appeals department and claims processing department have separate systems that need to synchronize Continue filing your weekly claims as normal, even while they show disqualified status. Once everything updates, you'll receive all eligible payments in a lump sum including any eligible weeks showing as disqualified now. If the 2025 claims haven't updated by next Friday, then you should contact UC for assistance.

•is this true even if the original disqualification reason was different? my first claim was denied for quitting without cause but later ones were denied for 'able and available' issues. would winning the first appeal fix the later claims too?

•Haha, you're right! I should be grateful. It's just stressing me out seeing some claims updating while others aren't.

I think your looking at it wrong. The old claims from 2024 are updating first because their older. The 2025 ones might be on a different schedule for processing. My boyfriend had same issue in March when he won his appeal and it took about 8 days for everything to get fixed but his oldest claims changed first too. Just be patient but keep filing every week!!

•This is correct. The UC system processes claim updates in chronological order, starting with the oldest weeks first. As long as OP's appeal decision covers the same issue for all claim weeks, they should all update eventually.

Has anyone noticed that the PA UC system ALWAYS seems to update slower when it means they have to PAY US, but if they think we owe THEM money the system updates instantly?? Just saying...

UPDATE: You guys were right! I checked my portal this morning and ALL my claims now show 'In Progress' including the 2025 ones! Looks like it just took about 4 days for everything to update in their system. Thanks everyone for your help and keeping me from panicking unnecessarily!
