PA UC Money Network card arrived empty - normal to wait until end of month for funds?
Hi everyone, got my new Money Network card in the mail yesterday but when I checked the balance it's completely empty! I've been filing my weekly claims for the past 3 weeks and my dashboard says they've been approved. Is it normal to wait until the end of the month for the funds to show up on the new card? My old card expired and this is the replacement. Do I need to call someone to have them transfer the money or does it happen automatically? This is really stressing me out because rent is due next week and I was counting on this money.

no you shouldnt have to wait til end of month. funds should be there within 2-3 business days of approval. did you activate the card yet?

•Yes I activated it right away! Called the number on the sticker and went through all the steps. Set up my PIN and everything. Still showing $0.00 balance when I check online.

The funds don't automatically transfer from your old card to your new one. You need to call the PA Treasury Department at 1-800-922-2555 to request the balance transfer. I had the same issue last year and it took them about 48 hours to move my money over once I called. Make sure you have both card numbers ready when you call!

•Omg thank you!!! I had no idea I needed to call them to transfer the money. I thought it was automatic since it's a replacement card. Will call them first thing tomorrow morning!

Another possibility - check if your payment method in your UC portal still shows the old card number. Sometimes when you get a replacement card, you need to update your payment information in the system as well. Log into your account and go to Payment Information to verify the card number matches your new card.

•I just checked and you're right! It still shows my old card number ending in 4732 but my new one ends in 8901. How do I update this? I don't see an option to edit it anywhere on the payment page.

I went through this exact same situation in February! The UC system is so confusing with these cards. Here's what you need to do: 1. First call Money Network directly at 888-233-5916 and verify both cards are linked to your account 2. Then call PA Treasury at the number someone mentioned above 3. You'll also need to update your payment method in the UC portal by going to Payment Options (not Payment Information) and selecting "Update Payment Method" It took about 72 hours for my funds to show up after doing all this. Just be prepared to wait on hold for a LONG time when calling either number. Keep your claim number, SSN, and both card numbers handy.

•its for security reasons. if they automatically transferred funds there would be more fraud probably.

UPDATE: Finally got my issue fixed! Called the Treasury Dept (took 3 attempts to get through) and they said my new card wasn't properly linked to my claim. They fixed it on their end and said my next payment will go to the new card, but I'd need to call Money Network directly to transfer any pending payments. Called them and after 45 mins on hold they were able to transfer my funds. Money showed up on my new card about 4 hours later! Thanks everyone for your help!

•Great news! Glad you got it sorted out. For future reference, whenever you get a replacement card, always call both PA Treasury and Money Network to make sure everything is properly linked. The system doesn't handle transitions between cards well at all.

Just a heads up for anyone else with this issue - I've heard that starting in August 2025, PA UC is finally updating their system to automatically transfer balances to replacement cards. Too late for many of us, but at least they're fixing it eventually!
