Why can't I log into NYS Department of Labor unemployment account - keeps saying invalid credentials
I've been trying to log into my NYS Department of Labor account for the past two days and it keeps telling me my username or password is wrong. I know I'm using the right info because I wrote it down when I first set up my account last month. I need to file my weekly claim and I'm getting really stressed about missing the deadline. Has anyone else had this problem? I tried the password reset but I'm not getting any emails from my.ny.gov.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. Clear your browser cache and cookies first, then try logging in again. Sometimes the NYS Department of Labor system gets glitchy and old login data gets stuck. Also make sure you're going directly to my.ny.gov and not clicking any links from emails.

ugh same thing happened to me last week!! took forever to get back in. try using a different browser or incognito mode. sometimes chrome gets weird with the ny.gov site

If the password reset emails aren't coming through, check your spam folder first. The NYS Department of Labor emails sometimes get filtered out. If you still can't find them, you'll need to call the technical support line. The number is on the my.ny.gov login page. You have until Sunday to file your weekly claim so you still have time.

Make sure you're not using autofill for your password. I had issues where my browser was filling in an old password I had changed. Type it manually to be sure.

•I tried calling early morning around 8 AM and still waited over an hour, but it was definitely better than calling midday. Another thing that worked for me was trying to log in from a completely different device - like if you've been using your computer, try your phone instead. Sometimes the NYS Department of Labor system has device-specific issues. Also double-check that caps lock isn't on when typing your password, that got me once!
