New York Unemployment payment released but nothing in bank account after 5 days
My unemployment funds were released last week but still haven't hit my bank account. This is for several months of back pay. The payment shows as released in the system but nothing has shown up. Does anyone know the normal timeframe for payments to show up after being released?

Usually takes 2-3 business days max for direct deposit. Something ain't right here. You should def call them asap and check if there's an issue with your banking info 🏦

•Check your payment history on the website. Sometimes they send it to the wrong account if you changed banks recently

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! Used this service called claimyr.com - they dial and wait on hold, then call you when an agent picks up. Costs $20 but totally worth it after trying to call for days. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•100% legit, used it twice now. Better than wasting hours on hold

Same thing happened to me last month. Turns out they had my old debit card info. Had to wait 2 weeks for a new card to come in the mail 😤

Listen up, here's what you need to do: First, check your payment history on the portal - make sure the banking info is correct. If it shows released but no deposit, there's usually three possibilities: 1. Wrong bank info on file 2. Payment got rejected by bank 3. System glitch on their end Best way to resolve is getting an agent on the phone. Save yourself the headache and use claimyr.com - they'll get you through to someone. Yeah it costs money but when you're waiting on months of backpay its worth it. If you can't get through, go to your local labor office first thing in the morning. Bring all your docs and payment history printouts. DON'T wait longer than a week after release date to take action!

Make sure u didn't have any overpayments from before. They might be holding it to pay that back first

Had the exact same issue last month! Payment showed released for over a week with nothing in my account. Turned out my bank (Chase) was holding it for "fraud review" because it was a large amount. Called my bank first and they told me about the hold - unemployment office had no clue. Might be worth calling your bank before dealing with the DOL nightmare hotline 📞

•@A Man D Mortal That s actually really'smart advice! I didn t even think'about the bank holding it. Definitely calling them first before I waste more time with DOL. Thanks for the tip! 💡

•@A Man D Mortal This is genius! I ve been calling'DOL for 3 days straight and getting nowhere. Never occurred to me that my bank might be the issue. Calling Wells Fargo right now - thanks for saving me hours of frustration! 🙌

This happened to me too! After 6 days of no deposit, I called my bank (Bank of America) and they said the payment was there but flagged for manual review because of the large amount. They released it within an hour once I confirmed it was legit. Definitely call your bank first - saved me from dealing with the DOL phone maze! 🏦✨

•@Mateo Gonzalez Yes! This is exactly what I needed to hear. I have Bank of America too and it s'been 5 days since the payment was released "-" never thought they might be holding it for review. Calling them right now instead of trying to get through to DOL again. You guys just saved me so much time and stress! 🙏

Check with your bank ASAP! Same thing happened to my sister - payment showed released for a week but her credit union was holding it for fraud review because of the large backpay amount. Once she called and verified it was legitimate unemployment, they released it same day. Banks often flag big government payments automatically. Way easier than trying to get through to DOL! 💰
