New York Unemployment: Can I file for the last week of my claim ending 1/28?
My unemployment benefits are about to run out and my last week is coming up. Can I still submit my weekly claim for the final week even though my benefit year ends that same week? Also wondering if I can file a new claim right after this one ends?

Yes you can definitely file for that last week! I just went through this last month. You file like normal up until your last eligible week.

•You can actually file the new claim the very next day after your benefit year ends 👍

Hey I was stuck trying to get through about this same issue last month. I found this site claimyr.com that calls unemployment for you and gets someone on the phone. It costs $20 but totally worth it cause they got me through in like 30 mins. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Make sure you dont have any breaks in filing! If you miss a week it can mess up your whole claim.

Your going to need to file a new claim after the benefit year ends. Theres usually a waiting week for the new claim just fyi

Here's what you need to know about transitioning between claims: You can absolutely claim that final week. For the new claim, wait until after your BYE date. You'll need updated employment info and earnings for the new base period. They'll review if you earned enough in your base period to qualify. Document everything and save your confirmation numbers! If you have trouble reaching them, try claimyr.com - saved me hours of hold time.

•Have your W2s, paystubs, and any separation papers from employers in the last 18 months ready to go!
