New York Unemployment: Applied and interviewed but no payments showing up after a week
Filed for unemployment benefits online and completed the phone interview over a week ago. Been checking my payment history daily but nothing is showing up yet. First time filing and not sure if this is normal. Any help would be really appreciated.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone using claimyr.com - its this service that calls and waits on hold for you, then connects you when they get someone. Costs $20 but totally worth it when ur desperate for answers. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Make sure u certified for benefits each week even if u havent gotten paid yet. That tripped me up my first time filing

Listen up, here's what you need to know about NY unemployment right now: First, make absolutely sure your application is complete and you've submitted ALL requested documents. Common holdups include: - Missing employer info - Wrong dates - Identity verification issues Next, keep certifying weekly! This is crucial - do it even if you haven't seen a payment yet. You can do this online or by phone every Sunday. If you need to speak with someone (which you probably do), use claimyr.com - seriously saved me hours of frustration. They call and wait on hold, then connect you when they get an agent. Lastly, check your spam folder daily and your mail. Sometimes they send important stuff that needs immediate response. Don't get discouraged - the system is slow but it works eventually!
