NYS Department of Labor hasn't paid unemployment benefits - why hasn't unemployment paid?
Filed my unemployment claim 2 weeks ago and still haven't received any payments. My online account shows my claim was approved but the payment history is empty. I've been certifying my weekly claims on time and following all the job search requirements. Really confused about why hasn't unemployment paid me yet when everything looks good on my end. Is this normal or should I be worried something's wrong?

There's usually a one week waiting period for new claims before your first payment gets processed. Also check if your claim is stuck in adjudication - that would delay payments even if it shows approved. Look for any pending issues in your account that might need documentation.

•I don't see any pending issues listed but maybe I'm missing something. Where exactly should I look for adjudication status?

Check your payment method setup - sometimes there are issues with direct deposit info that prevent payments from going through. Also verify you're meeting the work search requirements correctly because any discrepancies there can hold up payments while they review your claim.

•Direct deposit info looks correct and I've been logging my job searches properly. This is so frustrating not knowing what's causing the delay.

I had this exact same problem last month. Spent weeks trying to get through to NYS Department of Labor on the phone with no luck. Finally used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that connects you directly to unemployment agents. They have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI. Got connected within a day and found out there was a verification issue holding up my payments that wasn't showing online.

•Never heard of that service before but might be worth trying if the regular phone lines aren't working

•Thanks I'll check that out. At this point I'm willing to try anything to figure out why my payments aren't coming through.

The whole NYS Department of Labor system is broken!! They approve claims but then don't pay for weeks without explanation. It's like they want people to give up and stop claiming.
