New York Unemployment: When do payments start after waiting week?
Just filed my first unemployment claim and completed my waiting week. Been checking my payment history but nothing showing up yet. Anyone know when the first payment usually hits after the waiting week is done?

its not always exactly after the waiting week. mine took about 10 days after. you gotta keep certifying each week tho or theyll stop the payments 🤔

I found a way to actually talk to someone about this. Used claimyr.com to get through to an agent. It costs $20 but worth it to get answers. They dial and wait on hold, then connect you when someone picks up. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Make sure ur payment info is set up right in ur account. Direct deposit is faster than the debit card

The system is such a joke rn. Been waiting 3 weeks after my waiting week and still nothing. Called like 50 times today no luck getting through 😤

Here's the full breakdown of what to expect: First, make sure you've done these things: - Completed the waiting week - Certified for benefits every week without fail - Set up direct deposit (faster than debit card) - Double check your payment history daily Typically payments start 2-3 business days after your first certification following the waiting week. But delays are common rn. If you don't see anything after 2 weeks, something's wrong and you need to talk to someone. Try claimyr.com to get through to an agent - saved me hours of calling. Keep all your work search records too, they might ask for them later.

Just went through this same process last month. After my waiting week, it took exactly 5 business days for the first payment to show up in my account. Make sure you're certifying every Sunday night before midnight - that's crucial. Also double check that your direct deposit info is correct in your online account, mine had a typo in the routing number that delayed everything by another week. The payment history section updates around 3am usually, so check first thing in the morning rather than throughout the day.
