Need governor's office number for New York Unemployment issues

My unemployment case has been stuck for weeks and I need to escalate this to the governor's office. Regular phone lines aren't helping. Does anyone have the right number to call? Been trying different numbers I found online but none seem to work.

I tried the governors office last month, total waste of time tbh. They just transfer you back to regular unemployment 🤡

Hey! I actually found a way to get through to unemployment directly using claimyr.com - they call and wait on hold for you then connect you when someone picks up. Costs $20 but was worth every penny for me. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

The governors office number is 518-474-8390 but good luck getting anywhere with that 🤔

Skip the govs office. Contact your local assemblyperson instead. They actually have direct lines to unemployment office and can help speed things up.

Let me give you the full rundown of what worked for me. First, try getting through to regular unemployment using claimyr.com - they'll handle the hold time. If that doesn't resolve your issue, reach out to your local assembly member (find them at nyassembly.gov). As a last resort, the governor's office number is 518-474-8390, but they usually just redirect you. Document everything, including who you talked to and when. Keep all your paperwork organized. The system is overwhelmed but persistence is key. Good luck!

Also want to add - if you're going the assembly member route, make sure to include your full case details and timeline in your initial email. They respond faster when they have all the info upfront rather than having to go back and forth asking for details.

@Ravi Kapoor makes a great point about having all your info ready! I d'also suggest keeping a call log with dates and times you tried reaching them. When I finally got through, the rep asked for all my previous attempt details and it helped show how long I d'been trying. Really speeds up the process once you do connect with someone.

Been dealing with the same nightmare for 2 months now. What finally worked for me was filing a complaint with the NY Department of Labor's Inspector General office at 518-457-8746. They actually have authority to investigate delays and can push your case through faster than going through regular channels. Also try emailing the DOL Commissioner directly - sometimes those emails get flagged for priority review. Don't give up, the squeaky wheel gets the grease with these agencies!

@Mateo Sanchez this is super helpful! I had no idea about the Inspector General office - definitely gonna try that route too. Did they actually follow up with you after you filed the complaint or did things just start moving on their own? Also wondering how long it took from when you contacted them to seeing results?
