NYDOL overpayment: When will I get payments after deductions? + Refund for missed calls?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out when I'll get my payments after they take out the overpayment. Anyone know how long it usually takes? Also, I'm wondering about refunds for calls I didn't receive. Has anyone dealt with this before?

Ugh, dealing with overpayments is such a pain. I had to go through this last year. It took about 3-4 weeks for me to start getting payments again after they sorted out the overpayment. But I've heard it can vary depending on your situation.

3-4 weeks?! That's crazy long. I'm in the same boat and I can't wait that long. Bills are piling up π

I know, it sucks. Have you tried calling them to see if they can expedite it?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

As for refunds on calls you didn't receive, you might need to contact their customer service directly. I've never heard of getting refunds for missed calls from NYDOL. Are you sure that's a thing?

Listen up, y'all. I've been through this rodeo before. Here's what you need to know about overpayments and getting your money back: β’ First, make sure you've submitted all the required documentation for the overpayment. They won't process anything until they have everything. β’ Once they've processed the overpayment, it can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks to start receiving payments again. Yeah, it sucks, but that's bureaucracy for ya. β’ If you're really in a bind, reach out to your local state representative. Sometimes they can light a fire under NYDOL's ass. β’ Keep checking your online account for updates. Sometimes they don't notify you when things change. β’ As for refunds on calls, I've never heard of that being a thing with NYDOL. You might be thinking of something else. Hang in there, folks. This system is a clown show π€‘ but we'll get through it.

Has anyone tried filing a complaint with the ombudsman? I've heard that can sometimes speed things up.

I tried that once. Took forever to get a response, but it did eventually help. YMMV
