NY unemployment website showing 'service temporarily unavailable' error all day - anyone else?

This has been happening to me since yesterday afternoon! I've tried logging in like 20 different times and keep getting that exact same error message. So frustrating because I'm waiting on backpay and need to see if its been processed yet.

After weeks of not being able to reach anyone at ny unemployment, I found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that actually got me connected to a live agent! They called the unemployment office for me, waited on hold, and then connected me to an agent when they finally picked up. Yep! Been dealing with this error all freaking day. Called tech support and they said theyre experiencing "system wide issues" whatever that means 🙄 The guy I spoke with said to try again tomorrow but couldn't give me any timeframe for when it would be fixed.

This happens like every other week at this point. Their system is running on outdated tech from the stone age and they refuse to update it. I've learned to just certify and check payment status during off-peak hours (like 2am lol) when fewer people are on the site. Not ideal but sometimes works.

Have u tried using incognito mode or a different device? Sometimes my laptop wont work but my phone does or vice versa. Just a thought!

Its not just you, there was an announcement buried on their Twitter that they're doing "scheduled maintenance" but they conveniently didn't tell anyone ahead of time. Typical NY unemployment 🤦‍♀️

The system is down again?? Shocker! 🙄 I had issues checking payments last month too and ended up having to call. After trying for days with no luck, I finally used claimyr.com and got through to an actual human who helped me confirm my payment was processed. Might be worth a try if you're desperate.

sounds like classic Mercury retrograde stuff lol. but for real, the site's been a hot mess since they "upgraded" it in November. My friend works in IT and says they probably didn't test it properly before launch.

Same issue here in Buffalo. Been trying since yesterday and still nothing. The whole unemployment system needs to be rebuilt from scratch tbh

FYI for anyone reading this thread - I just got through on the website (11:23pm). Maybe try now? Looks like they fixed whatever was broken.

protip: screenshot the error message. if your payment is delayed and you end up with late fees anywhere, you'll want documentation that the system was down when you tried to check your payment status. learned this the hard way last year 💯

Try calling the automated phone system if you just need to check payment status! 1-888-581-5812 then press 2 for payment history. Sometimes works when the website is down.
