NY unemployment says they have no record of my ID.me verification - still waiting on 2 payments
Just got off the phone with NY unemployment about the two payments they still owe me from August. I completed the ID.me verification process last Wednesday and even got the confirmation email. When I finally managed to speak with someone today, they told me they have zero record of my verification in their system! I did it through the official DOL link they sent to update my personal info. The agent said I'll have to call back AGAIN to have them release the payments once my verification shows up. That probably means another 2-3 weeks of waiting! How is it possible they don't have my verification after almost a week? Has anyone else experienced this delay between completing ID.me and it showing up in their system? This is so frustrating.

Same thing happened to me! I did my ID.me verification three weeks ago and had to call like 5 times before they finally saw it in their system. Their computers are from the stone age I swear. Keep calling every few days to check if it's updated.

•Ugh that's so annoying. Did they eventually release your payments or are you still waiting too?

•They finally released them after my 5th call. The 4th person I talked to put a note on my account and then the 5th person actually saw my verification and processed it. Just be persistent!

•I found this service called Claimyr at claimyr.com that basically waits on hold for you and then calls you when there's a real person. Only way I was able to get through all those times without losing my mind

After trying to call ny unemployment for weeks with no luck, I found this website claimyr.com that got me connected to an actual agent within 2 hours. They held my place in line and called me when an agent was available. They fixed my ID verification issue on that first call and my payments were released 3 days later! Saved me so much frustration. Here's their youtube if you want to see how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•100% worked for me. I was skeptical too but I was at my wits end after trying to call for 3 weeks straight. Talking to a real agent made all the difference - they fixed everything in one call.

•another service promising miracles 🙄 does it cost money?

•Yeah it costs something but it was worth every penny to finally get my benefits. I was missing over $1800 in payments so the fee was nothing compared to that. My landlord was about to evict me so I needed that money ASAP.

•That claimyr service sounds interesting. Did you have to wait long for them to call you back?

•Took about 2 hours for them to get through the queue. Way better than the 4+ hours I was spending on hold myself (and usually getting disconnected before talking to anyone

The ID.me and DOL systems don't talk to each other automatically. I learned this after THREE FREAKING MONTHS of waiting. You have to specifically request them to check for your ID.me verification manually. Their system is completely broken.

This happened to me too. I completed ID.me in July and they still couldn't see it in September. But here's the fix - ask them to check for your verification using your email address instead of your SSN or claim ID. For some reason that worked for me!

•Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely try that when I call back.

•I can confirm this worked for me too! They found my verification immediately when they searched by email. The system is so messed up.

Dealing with NY unemployment is like playing the worst lottery ever. I've been trying to get two missing payments for 3 months now. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. 🤡

Here's what's actually happening: When you verify through ID.me, it doesn't automatically update in the DOL system. There's a daily batch process that's SUPPOSED to sync the data between the two systems, but it's notoriously unreliable. Your verification is probably sitting in some queue waiting to be processed. I work in IT (not for DOL) but I've dealt with similar systems before. Here are some tips that might help: 1. Ask the agent to specifically check the ID verification queue, not just your main file 2. If you have your ID.me confirmation email, offer to forward it to them or read the confirmation number 3. Ask them to escalate to a tier 2 agent who has access to more systems 4. Request they put a note on your account that you've completed verification 5. If all else fails, try using claimyr.com to get through to an agent faster - I used it and got connected with someone who actually knew what they were doing The system is fundamentally broken, but persistence is key. Don't give up!

•This explanation makes so much sense! Thank you for the detailed info. I'll definitely try asking them to check the verification queue when I call again.

•Claimyr actually worked for you? I'm at my wits end here trying to get someone on the phone

•Yeah, it worked great. I tried calling myself for 2 weeks with no luck. With Claimyr I got a callback in about 90 minutes with an agent already on the line. Best money I've spent in a while considering I was missing $2400 in benefits.

When I had this problem, I ended up having to do the ID.me verification AGAIN even though I had already done it. The second time it went through instantly. Makes no sense but might be worth trying.

Im in this exact boat right now. Did my ID.me two weeks ago, called yesterday, and they said they have no record. Now i gotta wait even longer and my rent is due next week. Im so stressed I cant sleep.

•Have you tried explaining your hardship situation? Sometimes if you mention eviction risk they can expedite things.

•Yeah I tried that but the person I talked to basically said 'theres nothing I can do until we see your verification in the system' 😡

Try reaching out to your state representative! I was stuck in ID.me hell for over a month, called my assembly member's office, and they got it resolved in 5 days. They have special contacts at DOL who can actually fix things.

•This is the real pro tip! Government reps can often cut through red tape faster than trying to navigate the system yourself.

•who did you contact exactly? like how do i find my assembly person?

•Just google "[your county] NY state assembly member" and you'll find their office contact info. Call and explain your situation - they usually have staff dedicated to helping with unemployment issues.

Honestly the whole ID.me verification was sketchy AF to begin with. Had to upload my drivers license, social security card, AND do a video call where they recorded my face?? Then they still can't verify me? wtf

•I felt the same way! But unfortunately it's the only way to get your benefits. The video call part freaked me out.

•better than the old system tho where anyone could claim to be you with just basic info. my cousin had someone file a fake claim in his name before they started using id.me

I spent 2 months dealing with this EXACT issue. Turns out there are TWO different ID.me verification processes - one for accessing your account online and one specifically for identity verification for benefits. Make sure you did the right one!

Issac Nightingale
•Wait seriously? How do I know which one I did? The link they sent just said to verify my identity through ID.me

Isaiah Cross
•If it came from an email asking you to "verify your identity to continue receiving benefits" then you likely did the right one. If it was just to log into your account, that's different. Either way, I'd recommend calling and specifically asking if you completed the correct identity verification process.

The NY unemployment system is so broken it's actually impressive. Like how do you mess up THIS badly? Maybe try tagging them on Twitter - sometimes the social media team can help when regular channels fail.

Seeing all these responses makes me realize I'm not crazy for being so frustrated with this system. Been dealing with ID.me issues since June and still no resolution. NY unemployment is a special kind of torture.
