NY unemployment Key2Benefits card login issues - anyone else locked out?
Is anyone else having issues logging into their Key2Benefits account this morning? I've been trying since 6am to check my NY unemployment benefits balance but keep getting an error message saying 'Your account has been temporarily locked. Please try again later.' I haven't changed anything or entered wrong passwords. Tried calling the customer service number on the back of my card but I've been on hold for over 30 minutes now. Really need to access my funds today - any suggestions?

Try clearing your browser cache and cookies first, sometimes that fixes it. Also make sure you're using Chrome or Firefox - their website has issues with Safari and Edge sometimes. I had a similar problem last week and it turned out to be my VPN causing it.

•Thanks, tried clearing cache and I'm using Chrome. Still not working. :( Just tried on my phone too and same error.

Omg this happens ALL THE TIME with Key2Benefits!! Their system is the WORST. I got locked out twice last month for literally no reason. You'll probably be locked out for 24 hours before it resets on its own. So frustrating!!

•24 hours?! I need to pay my electric bill today. This is ridiculous.

•The system does automatic lockouts as a security measure. If you need immediate access, call 1-866-295-2955 and follow the prompts for account lockout. Make sure you have your card number ready.

I'm locked out too! Tried logging in about an hour ago. Must be some kind of system-wide issue. My friend just texted me saying she can't get in either.

After trying to call Key2Benefits customer service for THREE DAYS with no luck (always disconnected after 40+ mins on hold), I finally got through to an actual human by using Claimyr. It's a service that calls and waits on hold for you then connects you when an agent picks up. Saved me hours of frustration. Just google claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE showing how it works. Totally worth it when you need to fix account issues fast.

•Does this actually work?? I'm so tired of spending half my day on hold just to get disconnected!

•Yeah it worked for me! Once I got connected to an agent, they fixed my account in like 2 minutes. The actual problem was super simple but impossible to fix without talking to someone.

I work with unemployment claims regularly. There's currently a known issue with the Key2Benefits portal that started early this morning (around 4am ET). Their tech team is working on it, but they haven't provided an ETA for resolution. If you absolutely need to access funds today, you have two options: 1. Call customer service directly at 1-866-295-2955 and request a temporary lift on the account lock (long hold times expected) 2. If your card is activated, you can still use it for purchases and ATM withdrawals even when the online portal is down Also, be aware that attempting multiple logins when locked out can extend the lockout period.

•Thank you so much for this information! I'll try calling again. Good to know I can still use the card at least.

I had this happen in January and it was soooooo stressful. I needed to pay rent and couldn't access my money!!! I ended up having to go to an ATM and withdraw the daily maximum for two days in a row to get enough cash. The whole online system is terrible. I miss when they just mailed checks. :

•Same!! The old system was way more reliable. These cards always have some issue or fee.

UPDATE: Finally got through to someone after using that Claimyr service someone mentioned above. Turns out there was a system-wide issue this morning that affected a bunch of accounts. The agent was able to reset my account immediately. I'm back in now! Thanks everyone for your help.

•Glad you got it resolved! For anyone else experiencing this issue, the system-wide problem should be fully resolved by end of day according to the latest update from Key2Benefits.
