Are NY unemployment benefits delayed this week because of the holiday?
I usually get my NY unemployment payment deposited on Tuesday, but it's Wednesday afternoon and nothing has shown up in my account yet. Is there a holiday delay this week or something? My friend said she got hers today like normal. Anyone else experiencing a delay or should I be worried?

yea mine is late too, probably cuz of the holiday on monday. they usually add a day when theres a holiday. should be in tomorrow

This happens EVERY holiday week and somehow people are still surprised! The DOL doesn't process payments on holidays, which pushes everything back a day. My payment came today instead of yesterday too. It's perfectly normal - no need to panic.

I'm freaking out a bit because mine isn't here either!!! My account still says my certification was processed, but no payment. Does this mean there's something wrong with my claim? Will I get backpay for the delayed days? What if there's an issue with my bank?? I NEED this money for rent!!

You'll still receive your full payment amount, just a day later than usual. There's no 'backpay' since it's simply a processing delay, not a missed payment.

My neighbor works for the bank and she said all government deposits are delayed this week because of the holiday processing schedule. It's not just unemployment - tax refunds and social security are delayed too.
