Are NY unemployment benefits delayed this week because of the holiday?

If your payment hasn't arrived by the end of Thursday, you should contact NYSDOL directly. Sometimes there can be additional processing delays that affect individual claims during holiday weeks.

Not everyone has been on unemployment for years like you apparently have... some of us are new to this system and don't know all the 'obvious' things. But thanks for the info I guess.

Nope, it just helps you get through the phone system to talk to a real agent. Super easy to use. But from what others are saying, this is probably just a normal holiday week delay, so you'll likely see your payment tomorrow.

This is almost certainly just the standard holiday delay. The system still processes certifications on schedule, but the actual payment disbursement is delayed by one business day. You'll still receive your full payment amount, just a day later than usual. There's no 'backpay' since it's simply a processing delay, not a missed payment.

I think it's buried somewhere in the claimant resources section. It shows all the federal holidays and how they affect payment processing dates. Super useful to have saved!
