This whole system is a joke. They make it so hard to get benefits ON PURPOSE to save money. Its FRAUD on their part but they blame us. My friend works for the state (not DOL) and says they're understaffed by like 40% right now.

Here's what worked for me with NY unemployment when I was in your situation - try calling EXACTLY at 8:00am when they open. I got through after trying this for 3 days straight. Use all your devices (phone, spouse's phone, etc) to call at exactly the same time. One will usually get through while others get busy signal.

My neighbor works for ny unemployment (data entry tho not claims) and says they have a MASSIVE backlog right now and are working 6 days a week trying to catch up. At least they're trying I guess...

this post gives me hope but also makes me mad... why are some people waiting 2 months and others 6+ months? makes no sense
