Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. It was worth it to actually talk to someone who could explain my options instead of trying to figure it out myself. Much better than sitting on hold for hours.

THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS RIGGED ANYWAY!!! Companies always blame external factors when they want to cut costs. Minimum wage, taxes, regulations - there's always some excuse. Meanwhile we're the ones left scrambling to pay rent while dealing with NYS Department of Labor bureaucracy. At least you got approved though, that's something.
I feel you on this. It's frustrating when you lose your job and then have to jump through hoops just to get benefits you paid into.
Just a heads up - make sure you're keeping track of your job search activities for your weekly claims. NYS Department of Labor requires you to make at least 3 work search contacts per week and log them. Don't let that slip or it could cause issues with your benefits later on.
Good reminder! I've been applying places but haven't been keeping a proper log. Need to get organized on that.

I filed in November and got my first payment in like 10 days! But I think I was lucky because it was right after I got let go and my employer didn't contest it or anything. Restaurant jobs are usually pretty straightforward for unemployment.

Yeah there's a fee but honestly worth it when you're stuck and need to talk to someone about your claim status.
Just want to add that you should file as soon as possible after losing your job. There's a one week waiting period before you start getting paid, so the sooner you file the sooner that waiting period starts. Also make sure you have your Social Security card and driver's license handy when you apply.

UGH the NYS Department of Labor payment system is SO unreliable!! I've had payments delayed for no reason multiple times. Sometimes they just decide to 'review' your claim out of nowhere even when you've been doing everything right for months. It's like they WANT us to suffer.
