Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. Wait I'm so confused about this whole thing. I got unemployment too but also worked part time some weeks. Do I report everything separately or does it all go together somehow?? This tax stuff is so complicated
You'll report your unemployment benefits and your work income separately on your tax return. The unemployment goes on the income line, and your work income goes where you normally report wages from your W-2 forms.

Oh god this is giving me anxiety - what if they ask for documentation about the childcare issues? What if my employer lies about what happened? What if they say it was misconduct when it really wasn't??
Take a deep breath. Just be honest and provide any documentation you have. NYS Department of Labor investigates both sides of the story.

Just want to add that you should file as soon as possible after losing your job. There's a one week waiting period before you start getting paid, so the sooner you file the sooner that waiting period starts. Also make sure you have your Social Security card and driver's license handy when you apply.
