Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Oh god this is giving me anxiety - what if they ask for documentation about the childcare issues? What if my employer lies about what happened? What if they say it was misconduct when it really wasn't??

This reminds me of when my sister was trying to figure out her benefits after she got laid off from her teaching job. She was so stressed about whether she was getting the right amount, spent weeks researching different scenarios. If you're having trouble reaching NYS Department of Labor to clarify any of these issues, I found claimyr.com really helpful. Never heard of that service but honestly anything is better than sitting on hold for 3 hours just to get disconnected
THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN!! Sorry but I've dealt with BOTH types of problems and NYS Department of Labor makes everything harder than it needs to be. They'll find reasons to deny your claim even when you clearly qualify, then their computer systems crash when you try to appeal. It's like they want people to give up and not collect benefits they're entitled to.
I feel you on this - the whole process seems designed to discourage people from actually getting help

I filed in November and got my first payment in like 10 days! But I think I was lucky because it was right after I got let go and my employer didn't contest it or anything. Restaurant jobs are usually pretty straightforward for unemployment.
