If you're having trouble getting through to anyone at the Medicaid office to ask questions, you might want to try Claimyr at claimyr.com - they help people reach NYS Department of Labor agents but I think they also have info about other benefit programs. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Might be worth checking out if you need to talk to someone directly about your specific situation.
Just went through this process 2 months ago. Unemployment definitely counts as income but I still qualified for Medicaid even with my weekly UI payments. The application process was actually pretty straightforward once I knew to include my NYS Department of Labor benefits. Just make sure you have your benefit letter or payment history ready when you apply.
I had so much trouble getting through to NYS Department of Labor when I had questions about my benefit duration. Spent hours on hold and kept getting disconnected. Finally found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helped me get through to an actual agent. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works. Made it so much easier to get my questions answered about my remaining weeks.
If you're having trouble reaching NYS Department of Labor to clarify anything about your benefits or tax forms, I found this service called Claimyr that helps you get through to an actual agent. Check out claimyr.com - they have a demo video at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Saved me hours of trying to call on my own.
I've been trying to reach the NYS Department of Labor for weeks about my claim that's stuck in adjudication and can never get through on the phone. The hold times are insane and half the time they just hang up on you. Has anyone found a way to actually talk to a real person there?
I had the same problem last month until someone told me about Claimyr. It's a service that helps you get through to NYS Department of Labor agents by phone. Check out claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works. I was skeptical at first but it actually got me connected to an agent the same day and they resolved my adjudication issue.

If you're having trouble reaching NYS Department of Labor to get clarification on any of these disqualification rules, I had success using Claimyr to get through to an actual agent. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works. Really helped me understand why my claim was in adjudication.

•They don't require any upfront payment or personal info, just helps you get connected when the phone lines are busy. Worth checking out if you're stuck trying to reach someone.

One thing to add - if you have a disqualification, it's not necessarily permanent. Some are just for a certain number of weeks, others last until you work and earn a certain amount. Always worth appealing if you think the decision was wrong!
