If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just want to add that you should always answer the weekly questions honestly. I know someone who tried to game the system and ended up with an overpayment notice. The NYS Department of Labor takes fraud seriously and it's just not worth the risk.

Absolutely, I would never try to cheat the system. I just want to make sure I understand what they're asking for so I can answer correctly.

I went through the same thing when I first started filing! For job search activities, you definitely don't need to list every single application - just make sure you meet the minimum requirement (usually 3 activities per week). Keep a simple log with the date, company name, position, and method of contact. Screenshots aren't required but I'd recommend saving confirmation emails from job sites when you apply. Networking absolutely counts as a work search activity - just document who you spoke with and when. The most important thing is to file your weekly certification on time, even if you're not 100% sure about every detail. You can always call the DOL for clarification, and it's better to file on time than to miss the deadline while trying to get everything perfect.

Warning: NY unemployment scams increasing as benefits get harder to access

I need to warn everyone about something serious. There's been a huge spike in scammers targeting people desperate for unemployment help lately. Just this morning I got three different text messages claiming to be from "NY Benefits Verification" asking me to click links to "restore my payments" or "confirm identity." These texts look really convincing - they even had the right area code to make it seem local. Yesterday, I also got an email that looked almost exactly like it was from the unemployment office, with the right logos and everything, saying my payment was "on hold pending verification" and I needed to submit all my personal info through their sketchy portal. I almost fell for it until I noticed the email address was unemployment-nybenefits@gmail.com (obviously not official). There are also fake Facebook groups popping up where people claim to be "unemployment advocates" who can speed up your claims for a fee. My cousin paid $200 to one of these "helpers" last week and now her identity is probably stolen. With the system being so broken and impossible to reach a real person, I understand why people are desperate enough to try anything. But please, triple check everything, don't click random links, and remember the real unemployment office will never ask for your full social security number via text or email. Stay safe everyone. I'm just trying to make sure nobody else gets scammed while already dealing with the stress of unemployment.

Anyone else notice that scammers seem to be targeting people on specific days? I always get these fake texts on Mondays right after I certify my weekly benefits. Makes me think there's some kind of data breach happening.

This is such an important warning - thank you for posting this! I almost fell for a similar scam last week. Got a text saying my benefits were "under review" and I needed to update my direct deposit info within 24 hours or my payments would stop. The panic made me almost click the link before I caught myself. It's sick how these scammers know exactly how to push our buttons when we're already stressed about money. Everyone please share this with family/friends who might not be as aware of these tactics!

That "24 hour" pressure tactic is such a red flag! They always try to rush you so you don't have time to think it through. Smart of you to pause and verify first. I've been sharing this post with everyone I know - especially my older relatives who might not spot these tricks as easily.

The unemployment system is so confusing for drivers though. I had to explain my work history going back like forever and they kept asking about why I had gaps between jobs. Like hello, sometimes there's downtime between companies!

That's pretty normal during the application process. They're just verifying your work history. As long as you can document your employment and wages, gaps between jobs shouldn't disqualify you.

I went through this exact situation last year after getting laid off from a regional carrier. As long as your employer paid into NY unemployment insurance and you meet the wage requirements, you should be fine. The fact that you drive across state lines doesn't matter - it's all about where your employer is registered and paying unemployment taxes. Make sure you have your pay stubs and separation notice ready when you apply. The online application is pretty straightforward, just be thorough with your work history details.

This is really helpful! I'm in a similar situation - just got let go from a long-haul company based in Rochester. Did you have any issues with the wage verification process? I'm worried because some of my recent pay stubs show different state deductions since we delivered all over the northeast. Also, how long did it take for your first payment to come through after approval?

Just to follow up - were you able to get through to anyone? Did your payment show up? Hoping you got it sorted out before rent was due!

Yes! I used that Claimyr service you recommended and got connected to an agent yesterday. They said there was a random system flag on my account for verification, but since I got through to someone, they were able to remove the hold and process my payment. It should arrive tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation - saved me a ton of stress!

Glad to hear it worked out! For anyone else reading this thread later - if you see no payment date in your history after certification, don't wait more than 3 business days to start trying to contact someone. The longer these issues go unaddressed, the more complicated they can become.

So glad you got it resolved! I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - claimed on Sunday and still no payment showing up in my history. Reading through all these responses has been really helpful. I'm going to try calling early tomorrow morning like Mei suggested, and if that doesn't work I'll check out the Claimyr service. It's reassuring to know that these random system flags are somewhat common and can usually be cleared up once you actually talk to someone. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences!

The whole system is broken honestly. Been dealing with NYS Department of Labor for years and it just gets worse. They take forever to make determinations then if you appeal it takes another 2 months for a hearing. Meanwhile people can't pay rent or buy groceries. It's ridiculous.

Same experience here. My determination took 9 weeks last time and then they initially denied it! Had to appeal and wait another 6 weeks for the hearing. Thankfully won the appeal but lost 3+ months of benefits during the process.

Keep filing your weekly claims even while determination is pending - that's important! Once your claim gets approved you'll get back pay for all the weeks you were eligible. Also make sure you're doing your job search activities and keeping records in case they ask for them later.

This is really important advice! I've been continuing to file my weekly claims but wasn't sure if I was supposed to. Good to know about the back pay - that gives me some hope. I have been keeping track of my job searches just in case. Thanks for the reassurance that I'm doing the right things while waiting.
