Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. To everyone still waiting - hang in there! Just got my $4130 today after waiting since October. Was about to give up hope but it finally came through. The website still says "pending" even though the money is already in my account lol. Their system is clearly not updating properly.
That's great news! Did you ever call them or did it just show up?
I called a few times but never got through to anyone helpful. It honestly just appeared randomly this morning.

It's a separate program specifically for tourism, hospitality and entertainment workers who lost jobs during the shutdown. They used unemployment records to identify eligible people but it's a one-time payment, not weekly benefits.

NYS is usually pretty good about posting them online. Check your unemployment account and see if there's a "tax documents" section. You 100% need this form before filing.
You need to wait for the correct form or you'll mess up your taxes. BTW does anyone know if they're still doing that tax break on unemployment benefits this year like they did for 2020? That saved me so much last year.
That was only for 2020 tax year. No unemployment tax break for 2021 unfortunately.

Are you guys getting NY unemployment right now? I thought my claim was approved but haven't received any card or payment after 3 weeks...
This is a separate issue - make your own post about this. But yes, benefits are still being paid if you qualify, the system is just super slow.

not to be a downer but my brother's been fighting this same battle since Feb and still hasn't gotten it fully resolved. keep detailed records of every call and conversation. the system is completely overwhelmed right now.

This might sound crazy but try reaching out on Twitter too! Tag NYSDOLCommissioner and NYGovCuomo in a tweet about your situation. Sounds dumb but sometimes the public complaint gets faster action. Worked for me!
