Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. NYS is usually pretty good about posting them online. Check your unemployment account and see if there's a "tax documents" section. You 100% need this form before filing.
You need to wait for the correct form or you'll mess up your taxes. BTW does anyone know if they're still doing that tax break on unemployment benefits this year like they did for 2020? That saved me so much last year.
That was only for 2020 tax year. No unemployment tax break for 2021 unfortunately.

If Twitter doesn't work for you, I had success with emailing my state representative. They have staff who deal with constituent services and can sometimes cut through the red tape. Took about 2 weeks but they got someone from unemployment to call me.
This is actually great advice. Government offices prioritize requests from elected officials. My assemblyman's office helped me too!

It's a separate program specifically for tourism, hospitality and entertainment workers who lost jobs during the shutdown. They used unemployment records to identify eligible people but it's a one-time payment, not weekly benefits.

I thought the same thing but I was desperate after trying for days. Used claimyr.com and actually got through to someone who fixed my issue. Sometimes you gotta try something new when the old way isn't working.

Just FYI - I know it seems like a lot of money now, but remember this is TAXABLE income! They don't withhold taxes automatically, so set aside like 15-20% or you'll get a nasty surprise next April.
