I swear the NY unemployment system is designed to be as frustrating as possible. I've been checking everyday for my 1099 and nothing. Trying to call is pointless unless you have 4 hours to waste on hold.
If you're desperate and need it urgently, try contacting your state representative's office. They have special channels to unemployment and can sometimes help expedite these requests. Worked for me last year when I was in a similar situation.
I've called the tourism recovery line 47 times in the last month. FORTY-SEVEN. Not once has anyone picked up within 2 hours. This system is completely broken.
That's ny unemployment for ya. been that way for years and somehow getting worse
Try that claimyr thing someone mentioned. I was skeptical but it actually worked and saved me hours of frustration
just got my check!!! applied in October, approved in November, check arrived today (Feb 12). hang in there everyone!
So I had almost this exact problem when helping my uncle. After trying everything, I ended up emailing the commissioner's office directly with a clear subject line about disability and application errors. I got a call back within 48 hours from someone who could actually help. Worth a shot when you're desperate.
Do you still have that email address by any chance?
It was nysdolcommissioner@labor.ny.gov - not sure if it still works but worth trying. Put something clear in the subject like "Urgent Assistance Needed - Application Errors for Disabled Claimant
To everyone still waiting - hang in there! Just got my $4130 today after waiting since October. Was about to give up hope but it finally came through. The website still says "pending" even though the money is already in my account lol. Their system is clearly not updating properly.

What about your company sick days? Even part-timers should get some sick time in NY state.

•My boss is saying since I've only been there 4 months I haven't accrued enough sick time yet. I need to look into whether that's accurate.

•That might be true about accrual, but they still can't say you get ZERO sick time just for being part-time. The law changed.

Have you looked into the NY State COVID sick leave law? It's separate from regular sick leave and unemployment. Your employer might be required to provide paid leave specifically for COVID regardless of your part-time status.

•I thought that expired? Does anyone know if it's still active?
