Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

The whole NY unemployment system is such a joke. They're still using technology from like 1995 and expect it to handle modern problems. I had to verify my identity THREE separate times and each time they claimed they never received my documents even tho I had confirmation numbers.
for real tho. my uncle works in IT and says their entire system is held together with duct tape and prayers at this point 💀

Have you checked your spam/junk email? Sometimes they send important notices that get filtered out. Also check your online account message center - some communications only show up there and don't get emailed.
Good idea - I just checked spam folder and there's nothing there, but I'll keep an eye on it. I do check my online account regularly too and haven't seen anything new.

Seriously try claimyr.com - I was in the same boat stuck for months with no determination. Got through to someone immediately who saw there was a simple flag on my account that needed to be removed. No one had looked at my file in 6 months! Once I actually talked to the right person, it got fixed in one day. Best money I ever spent after months of frustration.
I'm gonna try this. At this point I have nothing to lose - been waiting way too long and getting nowhere on my own.

•You won't regret it. Just make sure when you get connected you specifically ask to speak to someone who can handle claim determinations - not just a regular agent. Be super clear about how long you've been waiting.

i think the whole program is a scam tbh. ny state announced this big relief program to look good in the press but never had a plan to actually distribute the funds efficiently. classic government move - big promises, garbage execution.

I'm a former tour guide who applied on April 5th. Just got my payment today (August 12th). So it took just over 4 months total. Hang in there everyone, they ARE slowly processing them!

I checked with several sources and called ny unemployment directly. No stimulus is coming currently. The only payments going out now are regular unemployment benefits, child tax credits if you have kids, and maybe some retroactive payments if you had issues with your claim before. Don't get your hopes up for anything else right now unfortunately.

I'm currently dealing with this. I filed a police report, contacted the FTC, and put fraud alerts everywhere. I finally got through to unemployment by using claimyr.com - it was the ONLY way I could actually speak to a human. The agent had me upload my ID, SS card, and birth certificate through their secure message system. They're still 'investigating' but at least the process is started. I'll update when I hear back.

unemployment identity theft is literally an epidemic right now. millions of Americans had their info stolen during the pandemic and states are STILL dealing with the fallout. your friend is unfortunately just one of many many people dealing with this. the backlog is insane.
