Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. My claim was pending for 9 weeks until I finally used claimyr.com to get through to a real person. Turned out there was a flag on my account because my last employer disputed my claim (which was BS). The agent removed the flag and I got paid all my back weeks 3 days later. Sometimes you just need to talk to someone who can actually see what's wrong in the system.

hang in there OP. i was in your EXACT situation last year. took 13 weeks (!!!) but i eventually got every penny. the system is awful but don't give up

I was stuck in the exact same situation, OP. I'm guessing you filed on your own? I gave up after months of no payment and ended up contacting my state assemblyman's office. They have direct lines to DOL and got my payment unstuck within a week. Worth a try!

•Yep! Just google your address + NY assembly member. Call their office and ask to speak with whoever handles DOL cases. They'll need your name, contact info, and claim ID. They've seen tons of these tourism payment issues.

I'm an accountant and deal with this every year. If you absolutely can't get your 1099-G, you can fill out Form 4852 (Substitute for Form 1099-G) and attach it to your return. You'll need to estimate your unemployment compensation as accurately as possible from bank statements.

Unpopular opinion but try looking for your 1099G on the IRS website directly through their transcript service. Sometimes they have it even when the state won't give it to you.

honestly the whole ny unemployment system is a joke. i applied in december, got approved right away, then NOTHING for 8 weeks. finally called using claimyr.com and found out they had some random flag on my account that nobody bothered to tell me about. fixed in 5 minutes once i actually talked to someone.
